The Watering Hole

Hiya, boys.

My studio computer crashed, and I had to wipe the drive and reload everything. Now, when exporting to MP3 through Sonar, the tracks get sort of a phaserish sound to them. If I export to WAV, everything sounds fine. I haven't reloaded any plugins yet... just Sonar 3, and enabled the native MP3 export.

Any ideas on what is causing this? All other equipment is the same.
Have you set the bit rate high enough ?  A low bit-rate will give a phasery burbly type of sound
Hey BCM!
Sounds like low bit rate to me too... you can export them all to wav and then batch encode with something like CDex, freeware that uses the LAME codec, which is probably a better converter...
Yikes!  I must admit I never paid for that license with SONAR.  I always save as a .wav then convert it using SoundForge...

(It IS good to see that there's someone with an even older version than I have though - I'm at SONAR Producer 4.  :) )
Thanks, boys. Yes... the bitrate was at 320. That was my first thought, that I popped it off at 128, but redid it at 320 and it still sounds weird.

Yeah, Craig... I see they're up to what? Sonar IX or XI or whatever... lots to it. Almost too much.
Did you also check the bit depth to make sure you are not exporting at 8 bit etc ?
Oy. Just double checked everything It was set to 32, and not 320.

Yes, I wear reading glasses now. Fuck you.

;D
LOL, you poor old fucker  ;D
