The Watering Hole

Just for fun I've been searching micing guitar amp on youtube this evening.  I really don't know why people bother making these kind of videos when they obviously don't have a clue as to what they are doing.  99.99999% of all the demos sound like a big pile of shit.  Thin, brittle buzzing sounds.

My main gripe with this is that you then get morons who must be equally thick as the demonstrators that make comments like "awesome" when it is quite blatantly clear that it is no-where near "awesome" but more in the realms of "dog shit"

That's all, just had to share that.

edit: I should also add that most of these idiots use cheap awful sounding amps and guitars with old strings that are mostly out of tune.  Fucking idiots
That's like most of the youtube gear demos, period. It's always some gorgeous expensive amp with some really nice guitar and some crappy hack guitar player who talks all about how amazing all his stuff is, then plays the most shoddy crap ever. Last night I saw one where they guy played a $3k amp with a $1500 guitar and he played The Summer of 69, by Bryan Adams, but couldn't even play it right, or in time, or without throwing beats and screwing up the transitions or picking patterns.  I wanted to cry.  That's why I like to see pedal demos from Prymaxe Vintage-- they actually sound well miced, and they play amazing stuff. You know what the pedal sounds like after you hear the demo.  I wish there was similar content out there for mics, cabinets, and amps.
