More record earnings from an oil company. Huge profits at our expense. Shit.
Why don't these fuckers invest in new refineries, or a new refinery. Considering their profiting on oil, I think these fuckers have a obligation to help our gas situation, even if it's future help. They need to do something.

Yep, almost 12 billion this time. I remember when we were talking about oil companies' record profits of $4 billion not a year ago. Makes one wonder why we are really paying $4.50 a gallon...
Simple answer involves politics and the current administration. Like it ot not, love bush or not, i said 8 years ago when bush began his campaign ( i live in Texas) that if he was elected we would have record gas prices, and a record debt possibly leading our country to a recession.
It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out the bush family ties to the oil industry and that the "investigation" into price gouging would be nothing more than a dog and pony show.
Keep in mind this is not me bashing bush cause i don't like where we are at now (because of him). regardless of Iraq and 9/11 and other things. i called this one before the douchebag ever stepped foot in the oval office. I don't understand why people didn't look into his past and how he ran other companies (into the ground). a grade school student could have seen this all coming if they had read a few things.
Get ready for more of this regardless of who is president at this point. Its so far entrenched now we will never see gas cheap again. The Oil companies are on a grab all you can last hurrah. Tey know that in several years their world as they know it is over. Nothing can change that at this point. It was bound to happen eventually and prices were bound to go up at some point. But we are being gouged, that is for sure.
Well, believe it or not fellas, the price of gas has a LOT to do with your basic supply and demand. Guess who is demanding the most nowadays?
