Does it get any more bogus?  40 million handwritten ballots counted in 12 hours.  It's actually more likely that Iran lands a spacecraft on the moon tomorrow than that these results are legit.

Bullshit.  If the real ballots didn't go right into an incinerator, I would be shocked... and if they ever actually turn up, even more shocked.

How fucking backwards does it get.  Fuck 'em.
it was obviously going to be a bareface stitch up when the boss of revolutionary guard  talked on friday about cracking down on velvet revolutions and unrest after the election. Erm he might not have a job after a free election if a new party was voted in - at least in theory anyway.

The regime has been shaken though, they didn't expect the experiment with democracy to go so fucking badly for them.
The TV exchanges were explosive.

The arrogant and  panicked reaction has lead to such farces as claiming 2/3 of the vote in Mousavi's home town of 10,000 - his core tribal constituency.

The regime have gone beyond the limits of even token credibility amongst even the most ill informed and deprived of information in the country, they might still support it, but they will be scratching their heads at the same time and doing the most dangerous of things - questioning.

Khomenei has had to refer the election  to the crony council in order to try to smooth over some of the most rediculous "results"

be interesting to see how it pans out - the regime has fucked up the phony election so badly it can only resort to heavy violence to contain it.

But the regime's saviour will be rising oil prices and the fact that they do have support amongst the poor - all be it not enough to win an election, but enough to hide their legitimacy in.

But it will be weaker internally Khomenai will be pissed off at Amadinejad - so I expect it to lash out and try to create a diversion to an international threat.

Again Obama played it cool - expressing concerns but saying the US was still willing to talk with the regime.

The tactic seems to be to give them enough rope to hang themselves with, don't allow them to divert things,

Bush tried to explain how it works to them...  ;)

Surely you truely don't buy them being a democratic nation. Come the fuck on man. The vote thing is staged. They are on the map now more than ever. They damn sure ain't gonna give up now. Vote in Iran. Means shit.

The protests show you how large the desire for real democracy there is in the young population of Iran. It's just a matter of time...that place might eat itself.
