It is hard to believe the idiocy of McCain here.
Every interjection he has made into the crisis up to this point has been inane and he is clearly he is out of his depth.

But going to  panic stations and taking a wild action like this, just shows crap judgement and inability to handle pressure.
Even the republicans in congress working on the deal were like "WTF does he think he can do to help us out here"

The last guy I remember cancelling a debate is Carter.  That worked out well for him.

It's a shame Carter didn't cancel his presidency. ;D
