Oh shit! McCain picked someone for VP who his opposition can actually, truthfully claim, has wanted to not be an American!  That's right! She was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party for some time.  A party that openly calls for the secession of Alaska from the US.

This chick keeps getting more and more interesting.  If she turns out to have been a socialist, I think I might vote for her!

I like her quotes.  Seriously, I am finding her really fucking entertaining.  And I am not often entertained by politicians.

We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.

She actually never registered with that party, but she was always very supportive of them. She's been a Republican the whole time. Her husband is an Independent. I actually like her family. They look like nice people. It doesn't change the fact that she's been bullshitting people about things.

She's been lying about the "bridge to nowhere" and her pursuit and support of earmarks...I wonder if anyone actually cares.

She supported the bridge very strongly until it became a national mockery, and then she relented. And she pursued earmarks like CRAZY, even hiring a lobbyist to try and snag extra money for the state 47th in population.

Alaska would be pretty screwed if they tried to be independent - all that federal funding going away, and almost no tax base to support themselves, except perhaps some oil and gas revenues...They'd be the Yukon, only in constant threat of invasion by Russia...or Canada. (ha ha ha)

Who cares?  I wouldn't vote for Bush again, and I wouldn't vote for Bush with a vagina.  McCain with Whitman, or Ridge?  Maybe, if Obama has a huge implosion.  McCain with Palin?  Absolutely fucking not.  We already had 8 years of the religious right wing in the White House, and the shit is way too fucked up for 4 more.

It is not disputed that her husband was a member of it for a number of years.

Why would she do a speech to welcome them to their AIP convention ?
Do you reckon she does welcome speeches for the Alaskan Democratic convention ?  :P

What's funny about all this is that her husband belonged to a party that openly calls for secession of Alaska from the US.  And remember Palin's dig about Michelle Obama? "I've always been proud of my country?"  Shows at least some restraint that the Dems have stayed away from that one, when Palin was practically begging for it.
