charger — Aug 19, 2013We have no say? they are elected by people they represent! People have their politicians records in front of them, and still choose to vote for them. You say we have no say, I say we have a country of voters of a new kind of stupid that gets exactly what they deserve. Maybe if we hadn't voted for friggin' Bush twice, and got the Roberts court, who basically completely gutted campaign finance law, so now every idiot in the country can be targeted by millions of dollars worth of completely fictitious, slickly packaged bullshit... but oh, we did vote for Bush twice, and we're paying the price.
I'm not sure how term limits would mean a thing... if anything, it would make them less accountable. If right now they can be complete asshats and still get re-elected over and over every two or 6 years, why would the fact that they only get to be in office for eight years total make them behave any better? To me it seems like then they would just get extra special license to be SuperAssholes their last term.
