Expect Haliburton is in the process of awarding itself a bonuses for marine conservation.  ;D
In these hard times everyone needs to share the burden...
Kinda like Obama letting BP start drilling on 10 existing wells. They are so safe now, really they are.
OBAMA!!!!!!!
YOMAMA!!!!!!!!

Wait, I thought you supported continued drilling?

Hard to keep track of what you believe... changes every day!
I do support drilling. But not by BP. The most unsafe oil company I know of. You seem to think that logic and common sense just disappears when someone disagrees with you. Your a trip. Must everything be a war with you? ;D ;D
They all have the same blowout preventers.
And a cement job done by Haliburton.

I can understand why Transocean are back in the frame.

Realistically there is no choice in the near/medium future aside or just don't drill in deep water.
Transocean has most of the deployable  kit and personnel, however badly trained, maintained and documented.
Haliburton less so - that seems to be an "on the waterfront" deal  ;)
They should be awarded the mission statement "Well protected"  ;)

BP - just in case there is another deep blowout in the gulf in future ;)

BINGEWOOD — Apr 07, 2011They all have the same blowout preventers.

But they all don't have the same record on safety.
... or the same amount of money and influence!
All oil companies operate under local jurusdiction and politics, they do deals where they use local contractors operating under local rule and regulation.
i.e operate in and of the local culture.

Niger Delta is in permanent oil spill but nobody powerful  gives a fuck, it is much worst than the gulf as it is in a river delta.

BP North America is Amoco - they merged in 1998 - 50/50 ownership.
North American safety record is fucking terrible.
BP and Contractors/regulation  in the Gulf is American.

It is a made in the US

The only thing British about this whole escapade was that the British part of British Petroleum was called in to "Red Adair" it.

And that is why BP will get a stake - what if another blowout happens ?
Who would you call ?

Exon ?

The first thing to do is to insure as much safety as possible by doing some investigation and studies. Most of the unsafe shit done, or not done, we know about. Now we need to enforce safety.
Forming  a committee means government spending money to regulate.

Tea Baggers have stopped spending - period.

Ya damn sure don't want government doing it. That defeats the purpose. Ya hire a group of experts, paid for by the oil companies, place a cap on oil prices, and let government distribute the money to the experts. Fucking one good thing government is good at, distributing money that isn't theirs.

Your saying, idiot, that will put the companies out of business, right? I say bullshit. It will make them explore better ways of getting the oil. And the fuckers will find a way to make big money regardless.

Or.....you could ride out this stormy economy the best ya can. Then, when things start moving again, get serious about the electric cars and get them on the road. Along with other alternative energies. this bullshit has gone on long enough. The technology is their. It's the greedy fucking government that doesn't want to lose all the damn money they get from oil that's the fucking problem.
HAHAHAHA!
Hook is having a serious attack of the thickos.
;)

8-)

They call me......"Professor" Hook. OK? ;)
