I just bought a new Dell Studio laptop, Of course it has Vista- I want to watch youtube videos, I need Adobe flash player,
Adobe will not run in 64-bit. What do I do to fix this -aside from chuckin' this thing out the window. :-[
A lot of stuff won't work on 64 bit yet. I'm sure there is a way to make it work. Charger would probably know. I got rid of my 64 bit because shit I needed for work, wouldn't run on it. You can probably load a 32 bit OS on your computer and have both.
I decided to just get a 32 bit OS to avoid that kind of stuff.
I was told, and you'd have to research this, that you can contact or go to the Windows website and order a 32 bit version and only have to pay shipping. About 5 or 6 bucks for the cd. But you can only have one version for free at a time. However, you can change back and forth as much as you want. A computer guy told me this, but you need to check it out, may not be true.
Charger would know much more about this for sure! :)
There are two browsers installed on Vista 64 bit (theres pretty much two of everything... wtf?). First, you should have two IE shortcuts on your start menu... the 64 bit one, and the regular one (32 bit)... use the regular one and Flash will load (same thing for Java).
If that doesn't work for you, here:
1. Open Computer.
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.
3. Scroll down and open the Macromed directory.
4. Open the Flash directory.
5. Right-click FlashUtil9x where x is some letter.
6. Select Run as Administrator.
7. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.
8. Follow the Flash Player installation wizard.
They've called it SysWOW64 !!
How nerdy cheezy :)
Though 64bit will be probably the last move with current technology, so it is worth a wow I suppose.
Thanks BCM, Just opened the 32-bit in the start up---- works fine now-
