Hey Guys!

I was wondering if anyone has installed the new version of avg free, 9.0, onto their computer?

I've been reading about it on their website, and I can't find any concise info on how to do it. I found links for a "full install version" that's about 70mb, and another one that's 2mb - which is the correct one? I also can't find whether to uninstall 8.5 first, or just install 9.0 on top of it.

Also, is 9.0 better than 8.5? Maybe it's just me, but from what I was reading about it on their site, it seemed to have less to it than 8.5. Perhaps I'm wrong. Either way, you probably still have to upgrade to stay current and get all the updates.

Could someone please give me a link to the proper file I should use, as well as some instructions on how to properly install avg free 9.0? I'd really appreciate it.

I hope everyone is doing well...

I no longer use or recommend AVG, and I haven't kept up with their version development.
And I have v9.0.800 (Free version) and it works great - better than the v8.x ones.  Just Google for AVG Free and you'll find the download - install was as easy as double-clicking on the install executable after you download it. :)
I have it on 5 pc's here and all functions well, no problems.   I actually have the server version too with the firewall which is also very good.
I ditched AVG for Avira, and both my computers run much faster than before. Something about my AVG was slowing things down, I'm not sure how or why, but it is a very noticeable difference, especially on my studio machine.

I switched to Avira at Chargers recommendation, after AVG 9 blue screened my XP Pro machine.  I fought with it for 3 days to get it booted in safe mode and uninstalled.  As soon as I got 9.0 completely out of my computer, it worked fine again, but I switched to Avira on it and my new Windows 7 laptop.  Prior to that, I'd never had an issue with AVG and used it for years.
