Got it last week.  Pretty cool.  Any tips for performance, cool apps or otherwise?
Get an Ebay app and sell it. Then, get an iphone. ;D
+1!
Gee, people are so helpful around here...
Does it have the polytune app? that's my fave so far, with 20+ guitars and basses in the studio I use it all the time.
Just searched... no go on polytune for Droid. Suggestion 1 still stands.  With Verizon available, there's no reason not to get an iPhone.
I got Daphne the Iphone.  I have a Droid X and will have it for at least the next 2 years.
Well, at least "I" will be curious how you like it since that's probably the phone I will be getting soon (unless VZW comes out with a Droid-X-like phone that docks to a screen and keyboard!).  :)
mine is a Droid X (Motorola).  So far, I love it with one major exception.  There is no easy, free Outlook sync capability.  This is a MAJOR downfall too me.  I quit carrying a Palm Pilot when I got my Blackberry because I had it two hours and had it set up and sync'd with Outlook.  It was SO simple.  The Droid will do a "corporate sync" but I don't use my work computer for all my personal scheduling.  So, all my basketball games, sofball games, family outings, church items, and all my personal contacts are on MY computer.  I managed to find a free program that imports contacts, but none that does the calendar.  This absolutely SUCKS at this level of technology.

Other than that, it's VERY nice.  I set my DVR from the hospital the other day, and watched a TV show on the droid while I was there.
My iphone works great with outlook. My only wish is that I could get the iphone with Verizon instead of ATT. The coverage sucks, even in Atlanta.
My iPhone (and iPad) is synced to my corporate email (Outlook) and to my personal email (gmail).  Even better, events from both calendars sync to the iPhone and iPad calendar, and I can add events to the calendar on one device and have it sync to my other calendars...

Are you absolutely sure? It seems like Outlook sync is totally basic functionality.
I'm sure.  I've looked, googled and went to droid forums.  Found a way around it though.  It does sync with my corporate Outlook.  Did that right from the start.  Now I just use Google Calendar Sync, and every time I put something in my personal Outlook, it syncs to Google Calendar with merges automatically with my corp account on the phone.  They are color coded as to which calendar they came from, etc.  Working great.
bump for round #2 now that some others have joined the Droid world.

Very useful- Vlingo.  I have only had it a few days, but it is great while driving and really any time.  Say the words and do texts, emails etc.  For example...  I can say... "Email Matt.  Matt, I just posted a clip at the bert cave."   It picks the person (I would have said his last name if actually doing this), types the email, the waits for you to review it.  The voice recognition software is VERY good, usually getting things right.  Then you can tap "send" or say "send" and it sends the email.  Same with texts etc.

Very cool - Hey Tell-  Like a walkie talkie.  You push the button and it records your voice, then sends it to the other party.  Not as a text, but YOUR voice message with your voice.

GasBuddy- gives you up to date comparisons of gas prices.

CamScanner- take a picture of a document, and turn it into a PDF "scan" that can be emailed, saved, etc as a PDF file.  The software allows you to trim the photo to shape if necessary before saving.  Very handy.  Used it several times the first week I had it at work where I'd be out of the office and need to get a document from a closing to the office.

More to follow....
I prefer the Droid right now.  As far as the music apps Charger mentioned, I have an iPad that runs those apps FAR more smoothly (I actually have the Korg synth app on it).  Though Polytune is cool, still prefer a good standalone tuner.    ;-)

They have a Droid version of Winamp.

Another app to check out is Advanced App Killer.  Frees up memory and improves battery life.  I had a great little app on my iPhone that did the same thing, then Apple asked them to remove that function.  I paid one or two dollars for that function and Apple had it gutted.  Thanks ya bunch of putzes.   >:(

Bluetooth File Transfer.  = wireless file transfer (I can move things to my laptop without a cable).

I have the Samsung Charge.  Through much of the DC area I have 4GLTE coverage, and a decent amount of it.  When I don't have wifi, this just plain rocks.  When I was at the hospital this last week in Fairfax, it was actually faster and more reliable than the hospital's wifi.

Howie, I know what ya mean.  My main computer is a Mac laptop and I knew syncing was going to be an issue.  So I exported all my contacts and calendar dates to Google for cloud syncing.  Works pretty well.

I have a Hotmail account and I can access EVERY folder in my account, not just the inbox like it is on the iPhone.

As much as I liked my iPhone, I like my Droid more.

Still exploring apps.  Been a little busy since the kid was born.

Yes, but you have an iOS device, so Apple wins either way, right?  As far as music goes, it is far superior from what I've been looking at.  The amount of external hardware that is starting to come out for iPhone/iPod/iPad is pretty staggering.  I'm looking at a $200 synth controller from Akai that is totally killer and holds an iPad--the iPad is the synth, but fully integrated with the keyboard... when developers start really exploiting that, creating really killer touch interface synth apps, it will be like having a Korg Triton-level synth on steroids--much bigger resolution, multi-touch, far more capable hardware and sample storage.  GarageBand on the iPad is already impressing me--$5, and it does some really awesome stuff with touch and multi-touch.
I never said I won't go back to iPhone at some point (and if I do, it sure as hell ain't gonna be on AT&T).    :)  I said I prefer the Droid for now, especially as a 'phone'.  ;)

I find my iPad more indispensable as a device for the things I need it to do that are non-phone related.  I downloaded a good PDF reader, have scanned a lot of my sheet into PDF, and rarely pull out actual sheet music.  Ain't very useful on an iPhone.   ;)

I'm curious if the iPhone 5 will support 4GLTE on Verizon.  Living in an area with decent 4G, it is a very cool thing when you need mobile data.  Actually makes mobile data very usable.
