My Father-in-Law wants a laptop for his b-day. So his wife is looking...

She doesn't want to spend much cash because he can barely use a computer to start with and they have a good home computer. I suggested a Sony, seems you and I really like them, but she doesn't want to spend $700 or so. She wants to spend 3 or 4 hundred bucks. I suggested a Toshiba from best buy, around $350...you know of anything better?
Tell him to sit down, voila!  Instant lap top!  ;) :D

Ok, just kidding.  ::)

Check to see if you have one of those small computer stores around.  I've seen some very nice refurbished lap tops for extremely attractive prices so that might be a route unless his heart is set on new.  A nice extra with the refurbs is that you get a chance to try them out to see if you really like that type before selling it on Craigslist and getting a new one.  :)

Not that I would endorse any of these, but in that price range, most things are going to be pretty similar.
Why do I always forget about Tiger Direct? Thanks man!!! :)
