I have to say, this looks like an advance on the level of MP3s, P2P, etc.  A really useful, really frigging cool move by Opera.

Checked it out Charger. Why would a regular web user like me need or benefit from this browser? I downloaded it and it's really plain looking, couldn't figure out how to import bookmarks, and just couldn't tell any need for the regular user. For the basic computer user, who likes the looks and speed, what's the best overall in your opinion?

I've been using Chrome lately and so far it's just fine. Speed is much faster of course, and pretty easy to use.
Chrome is fastest.  Chrome is also most stable--you can crash one tab and all the others live on.  You can really do some cool things with the tabs in Chrome.  But overall, I think the overall experience is best with Firefox--it supports more sites than Chrome, though you do sacrifice some speed, has a great range of add-ons, and generally rocks.  If I had to pick one, it would be FF, though I do browse this site and most of my casual sites on Chrome.

The cool thing about Opera is not the browser.  It's the Unite feature.  What this basically does is make it possible for you, with really no configuration work at all, to share files and documents with your friend on the other side of town or the other side of the world.  Could be invaluable for things like, for instance, making an album with people in other places.  For example, if you were at work, you could connect to your home computer shared files, and listening to your music, or something.  That's pretty fucking cool, and a long time coming.
That does sound pretty neat!

I've been using Chrome since you mentioned it and it's very impressive. My biggest problem is getting use to Chrome, or anything different than IE.

I may give FF a chance in a few days. Trying to get familiar with Chrome right now. See the pluses and minuses.

I'll keep Opera in mind if I ever need the Unite feature you described.

Interesting. :)
