The Watering Hole

This probably won't interest to many people but I just purchased a UE Boom bluetooth speaker. This thing is killer. I use it in the garage, fishing, around the house etc. Sounds pretty good, not like audiophile good but good enough. Gets really loud too. I started bringing it on the road to listen to music in the hotel so I don't have to wear headphones. Doubles as a speakerphone so you can answer calls with it, and is pretty durable from what I can tell. It's been wet, hot as hell, seems to be holding up good. Lovin it. I keep it on and plugged up at home and can just pull my phone out, pick some music, and jam, even if I'm in a different room.

As a side note, this is killer too..... I bought a blue tooth device from best buy for $30 that I connected to a pair of monitors in my living room as well, and I can do the same thing with my monitors as I can this blue tooth speaker. I'll put them back in my office now. I put some foam up on the walls, (carpeted floor and sheet rock) , and what a difference that made. Speakers don't even sound the same, in a better way. Real tight bass and crystal clean sound. I can just imagine how good they would sound in a really good room. Studio or whatever.

Damn this little speaker is nice. Kinda wish I got the larger one now. Pretty impressive. Sorry. A little electronic crazy stage, thing, I'm going through.  ;D
Actually, it's a very valid topic.  I have considered getting one of those things. I haven't researched them very much.  I've seen one or two different ones and considered it, but haven't moved on anything.

I have a shitload of tunes on my phone.  I use the little earphones that has a mic in line for calls when I get on a bike riding kick.  I thought one of those speakers would be a simple solution for portable tunes that didn't require headphones.

Which one did you get?  They look a bit pricey ($150-$200) from what I can see...

The other device has my curiosity up too!  :D
UE Boom Craig.

$199 at Best Buy, Walmart sells them too, not sure what the price is.

Another cool thing about it is... it's made so you can blue tooth another one for stereo.  ;D not sure I'll go that far.

They make it in a lot of colors. It also has a smart phone app that you can control everything with, volume, on/off, eq.

The other little thing works great too Craig.

The only thing is if you listen at over 50% volume, you will not get the 15 hours of play time mentioned in the advertisement and instruction book. More like 5 or 6 hours playing it at those levels.
This is the other thing Craig. These are $29.99 at Best Buy right now.

Smaller than a pack of matches, comes with a charger cable. Very simple to use.
Damn, you should hear this thing in my office with acoustic foam on the walls. Impressive. Way better sound quality than outside. ;D ;D
I went to Target I think it was, and listened to probably 15 of these things with my iPhone so I could tell what they sounded like with my own stuff.  I ended up getting the Sony SRSX3... not the biggest, not the loudest, but of all the ones I tried, the truest sounding in my price range, I was looking sub $150.  There were a couple very nice higher end ones, I even really liked the Bose, but the price was out of control.
The Bose Mini is $199. I thought it sounded better than the one I purchased. It just wasn't loud enough. I listened to some Sony's as well, but can't remember what they sounded like. I liked mine so much I bought another one and linked them together and have them in my living room. Listen to them all the time.
By the way, if what you have has a app for a smart phone, get it. It allowed me to turn off, or make the eq flat. They sounded better after that was done!!
