Would you (anyone) download and test my latest application. It's an encryption tool for encrypting files for use in transit etc, and is very simple to use.
You can read about it and download it from
http://www.tiff-tools.com/3.htm#encryptdecrypt
Feedback would be very useful especially re "does it work" and what operating system you are using.
Many thanks
Jon
I'd be glad to....but I have no idea what this is. ;D
Sorry.
For use in transit? You mean, like this?? :D

I may be able to help, but just not until Tuesday... Why? That would fall into the TMI category. ;)

Actully yes, exactly (or almost) like that. It never ceases to amaze me with the huge amount of confidential data that is simply copied to CD/DVD and then shipped off somewhere. With my easy to use encryption software simply drag and drop the file onto the softwares main window and then follow instructions to completely encrypt it securely and then copy the encrypted file to CD together with the freely distributable decryption only application. I use some very very complex encryption algorithms and the password is not stored anywhere, so if you type in the wrong password to decrypt the file, you simply get a file that is even further encrypted.
and by the way, what's a TMI category with a wink ;) ?
worked fine for me win xp sp2
encryped and decryped an mp3 file - maybe joey could use it
BTW I think TMI = "too much information"

Thanks for trying it. Perhaps Joey should encrypt all of his music and then throw away the key ;D
TMI, yes, I think you are right...I should have guessed that. I wonder what the TMI is though? I won't ask because just maybe it is too much information !
Jon, I just saw this but I'd be glad to check it out if you still need testers.
What is the encryption method? Is it a standard like AES, or is it your own concoction? How many bits? How long would it take a hypothetical "government agency," for example, "Homeland Security," to crack it?
Works with XP SP3.
Tested .rtf, Word text only and with embedded images, .pdf, .mp3, xml, jpeg, .txt, zip file and an exe setup file. All encrypted and decrypted fine.
Lost the original icon for the setup exe - probably expected behavior since it isn't an associated file type?, but it installed after decryption.
