So, do animals go to heaven or not? ;D
God did save one of each durring the flood.......so he must care a little about them, right.
And do they get wings? So it will be sorta farmly up yander?
Or will he just let them parish this time....durring his comeback?
If animals don't go to heaven, what happens to their spirit? ;D ;D ;D ;D Do they just become worm food? Speaking of worms....... ;D ;D ;D
Abrahamic religion : Obviously only religious dogs can go to heaven.
Buddhism : Dogs are at a training stage for nirvana.
Anamism : Dogs, the Tree and the Rock have souls.
Paganism : God could actually be a Dog.
Something like that :D
I'm not a dog fan. ;D
Maybe one of each animal will go to heaven. In that case, I would only have to tollerate one dog. However, that would mean only one Kev would go to heaven, right? ;D ;D ;D And that's just one to many!!!! ;D ;D Kev and God would be arguing all the damn time and ruin my beer drinking out of a gold can. That's assuming I'd be let in the club. ;D Ya think the devil allows ice chest? I hate warm or hot beer. ;D Hmmmm, will my soul have arms and a mouth? I need one arm and one mouth, at least. ;D Then, would a person in heaven be able to fly around drunk? As long as God supplied the beer, I think worshiping him would be o.k. That would make worshiping him worth while. ;D ;D
Not to mention the possibility of my ex-wife being there. ;D ;D
Wonder if the clouds can support a fucking elephant? ;D ;D That would be one big soul, wouldn't it. ;D
How silly is it to think a bunch od souls would be in heaven livin it up after death? ;D ;D ;D ;D
How the fuck can one not like dogs? That's weird.

I've grown to dispise the fuckers. ;D I have one and I'm sick of him!
I don't like to wash him, I don't like to spend money on putting him in the vet when I go on vacation, I dislike the mishaps from time to time when he shits or pisses in my house, I don't like him looking at me while I eat, etc....and I've got a 2 year old little girl and a wife telling me what to do every fucking day.....the simple fact that he lets me know he wants out and expects me to jump at his call or, shit or piss in my house, just breaks this camels back, ya know. Clear enough?
Also, the neighbors dogs. Fucking pieces of shit they are, both the neighbors and their dogs, roaming my yard and shitting in my yard and pissing on the car tires every morning......and the other neighbors with a fucking 5' tall hound of some kind getting in my garbage and me having to clean up after some fucking shithead dog after helping clean up all day or night with my little girl and wife.....fuck dogs!
Hmmmm, I think I feel better now. ;)
You have to watch out - you're heading toward BCM territory for grumpiness... :)

As this is posted in the RELIGION forum, I think you already KNOW why you don't like the dog. He's too much like Jesus. He loves you unconditionally, even when you don't love him. He loves you even when he doesn't get what he wants. Even when you don't do what's right for him, he still loves you. He's always there, even when you think you don't need him.... When you do something that makes him sick, you still blame him for getting sick. When he reminds you that you aren't providing basic maintenance, and you blame him, and even punish him, he still loves you. You punish him when something happens you don't like, and he still RUNS to you afterwards... yep, he just reminds you too much of Jesus. :D :D
Maybe he's dyslexic and doesn't believe in dog? ;)

Funny, honestly...but especially since you're also comparing Jesus to a loyal dog.
Ah, ancient superstitions...does your amusingness never cease? :)

Well, religion is just the smile on a dog. ;)

Thought you'd like that. :)
In heaven the Dog doesn't shit,
but if it does it would be the best shit you ever smoked.
Or it shits nuggets of gold
So you can enjoy being rich with lots of gold - in heaven - for goldfinger maybe.
A strange fantasy place.
Or it could be you are in a disembodied floaty place in the shiny happy presence of God.
A place where religion says the soul of a moron is no different to Einstein's.
This suggests that a soul is not constrained by the mental faculties of the biological vehicle it inhabits on Earth.
So the only question is do living organisms have souls that transcend them.
Some organisms are given a Ferrari for a brain function, some have a lesser but still impressive sports car , some have an SUV, others ride a bike, some walk, many can hardly move at all
There is a continuum of biology and heaven appears to be an all are created equal in the soul department sort of place at least with regards to humans.
Not judged by the car you drove up to the gates in :)
So the Dog has to have a pass.
And in heaven you get to see your Dog's soul as an equal and get to see the game from above as Human and Dog.
Meet the soul who got given the cockroach you squished :)
And then fret about what's next.
Make a good action movie idea.
A bunch of friends thrown into very competitive scenarios - not even the same life form.
Like Kev becomes Stratman's Armadillo :)
Kev becomes Stratman's cult leader later. :)
Then Stratman becomes an Armadillo and Kev keeps it as a pet :)
The souls get a time out from the front line to float around in the clouds to have an after game hoot and roar.
Which is the first person game idea - which is simply a modern incarnation of Buddhism which was a modern incarnation of Hindu/Anamism.
Who knows - Does a Dog have a soul ? - Does a Human ?
I say no. We know what a human has internally. I've never seen a soul listed as a body part or shown in a science class. Same with animals.
If one thinks humans have souls, then what about spirits? Do they have both, or are they the same? Or, does God possess the only spirit? If one is suppose to be filled with the spirit of the lord, when they die, does the spirit of the lord and the soul separate? Or do they hold hands and fly to the pearly gates for a inspection sticker before entering heaven? Hmmmmm. Questions.
You can't physically see or point at a soul.
You can only recognise one.
That was great Fingers. A lot said in a 2 sentence statement. Wonderful. :)
I've mentioned my current beliefs before and neither feel the need to go into them again nor defend them (plus no one is telling me I need to convert anyone either).
That said, if you look at our current "reality" as a first-person video game (where the objective is for us to try things and learn from them), then it's not hard to understand the concept of a "soul" as it is labeled. The first step is to entertain the idea that our "higher self" (for lack of a better term) or higher selves, are both playing the game and creating the circumstances that surround it (in our terms you, they or we, are creating the "game" and controlling the setup and running of the program). Therefore, after you die down here, there IS a continuum of conciousness (what religion terms the soul) after death. However, going beyond simplicities, just like when you play first-person games on your computer, you can be multiple entities OR you can have the computer handle some for you. To put it into larger terms, that means it's not necessarily one "soul" per life on Earth, but possibly one for more than one life or even none at all (for certain forms lower on the intellectual scale). Needless to say, you can play the same game again or try a new one.
Others that believe similar to what I do think that what we call reality comes from concious intent (and there's even some work in quantum mechanics to back this up) and that, just like when you watch a movie or enter a role-playing game, you try to forget that you know more than you do because it enhances your enjoyment (and learning) inside the game.
To go down a, possibly, more absurd path, when you play Max Payne or Duke Nukem have you ever considered that if either of them were religious that they might consider YOU God? ;)
BTW - My favorite diatribe about the soul is the earthworm one. It goes like this: If every life on Earth has a soul, then what happens with the earthworm? You can cut one in half and both parts will grow to become a whole earthworm and continue living. So what happens to the soul of the earthworm? Does it get cut in half as well or does the earthworm now have two souls?
I just think this soul thing stems right from religion and that type person, religious.
It's superstitious to think or believe in such a thing. People have personalities that are unique, not souls. Their personalities are shaped mostly from real life experience and possibility their parents. When you die, your personality doesn't exist anymore either. It doesn't float into someone else or anything. It's just gone. Why should one belive any different about a soul? I'm not sure how one could define something that really doesn't exist.
Does a ant have a soul? If so, where does he store it? ;D
I looked this up and shit, religion is he 3rd word in the article. Figures.

If you want to know about Soul, listen to Chef from South Park. ;)

In many religions and parts of philosophy, the soul is the immaterial part of a person. It is usually thought to consist of one's thoughts and personality, and can be synonymous with the spirit, mind or self.
A baby born with severe brain damage would not have much of a soul by this description.
Far less than a chimpanzee, dolphin, parrot or even a dog.

Exactly. So my opinion is of a soul is on par with that of there being a God. Superstitious, unfounded, no evidence, magical, emotion based wishful thinking at best.

A chimpanzee parrot hybrid with the instincts and loyalty of a cat would sum up that species that is known as a politician.
Occasionally you get the rare mutation - the Yoda which still has much of the instincts of the cat but is more loyal.
These make good pets.
