Is it appropriate to have a person who A) does not believe in God, and thus B) does not believe in religion, be the moderator for a forum which is titled "religion?"

I believe that it is not.  How can someone moderate a forum in which they don't believe in the premise?  This would be like putting FB in charge of the Gibson forum, and Chris in charge of the Fender forum!  BLASPHEMY!  I tell you!

Other forum mismatches that would be similar....

Kev as moderator of the "clean underwear" forum
Assman as moderator for the "how to be happy in life" forum
Charger as mod of the "I'm proud to be an American" forum
Stratman as mod of the "Give Islam a chance" forum
Craig as mod of the "sheep day care" forum
Jamie as mod of the "How to fit in with Corporate America" forum
etc...

Yes, because the other extreme doesn't think enough yet to realize there are other options out there.  Maybe when they grow up?  ;)
Hey  there......How ya doin?

Suck my balls.

I think I am pretty fucking fair and even keeled.  Got an issue.....bring it.

Who better to appreciate both sides of the fence than someone that's lived on both sides of the fence?

Wanna talk about a mismatch?  They got YOU moderating gear.  The guy that uses 14 fucking dirt boxes daisy chained together to get tone.  The guy that if he sold his 14 dirt pedals and little amp could afford a bad ass amp that we could all appreciate.  The guy that spent 2 hours tuning on a Line 6 Vetta that had a built in tuner.......is moderating the GEAR forum.

Bitch please!

On the contrary, I think it would be pretty unfair to have anyone who actually believes in any specific religion as the moderator of the religion forum, as that would mostl likely lead, intentionally or not, to forum abuse.  FB, as a person who as raised in one religion and has since renounced the religion, and searched for faith, seems perfect to me as the mod.  Of course, I can throw in another mod... if FJ ever came around, i'd be more than happy to have him... he's one of the few "believers" who also seems to have the ability to understand multiple viewpoints and other religions...

And what's make you think I'm not proud to be an American?  For some reason, I keep buying property here, instead of Switzerland...
Yeah DTR is right - Osama Bin fucking Laden should be the bitch in charge of religion around here.

Furthermore why is it necessary to have a believer in GOD be the moderator?  WHICH version of God does it need to be?  Which version of the Christian God does it need to be?  There are SOOOOOO many religions out there with a God....which one is the one that should be at the forefront enough to be mod?

The whole line of thought that it needs to be a believer of God is just a silly notion to me.  I'm sure Howie is just being silly on purpose to have a laugh.  So I think I'm done with this thread for now.

Is this appropriate  ;D ;D

You take it then!  It's not even the forum I offered to moderate!   HAHAHAHA

p.s.  still lost on the 2 hours tuning on a vetta thing....  but hey, if it works for you.  You're the moderator!  HAHAHAHAHA

I've got no problem with DTR moderating gear.  Anyone who takes a pristine Boss tuner out of the original, unmarked box, in which it is still plastic-wrapped, and then replaces it in the same way after I have tuned, has got enough of a gear fetish to satisfy fucking Eric Johnson in my book.
I think FB is perfect for the job. He's got my vote.

At least he's fair and knows his shit.

If a religious person was the mod, there wouldn't be any post to offer a chalange to the religious brainwashed. Religious people don't like to be questioned either.

No, a religious person as the mod just wouldn't do...unless it was FJ. He knows his shit to, and can actually answer questions. And....I like to read his post. Very interesting!!
If anyone can dig FJ out of his "40 days in the desert" I will gladly give him mod power.  Hell, we could make him a ninja forum!  Until that day, which we can call "The Rapture" for the hell of it, FB hasn't deleted or censored any posts... and I can't imagine he will.

That's so funny

Only true believers in   the unmentionable one who shall not be nameth should be moderator in the religion forum dedicated to chatting about the worship of and dissing the disbelieving scum in the name of the    the deity formally known as
I take it you can't have more than one person moderate a forum?  Most boards allow this...  Then we can have Matt AND FJ!  :)

Sure. The more the merrier.

The funniest thing is that anyone would even think the mod in one of these forums would do anything.  What, FB's gonna find a good debate going on and shut it down? Start censoring people?

Please.
As long as people aren't complete assholes to each other....I don't plan on doing  shit.
Hey this was all clearly tongue in cheek anyway.  Not intended to be serious in any way.

Charger, that IS funny.  However, if you remember, I had nothing to protect my pedals (no pedal board etc) so when I did to transport them to Bowling Green was put them in their boxes and throw them all in a gym bag.

(The Gym bag however was in fact .00000001 % pure virgin wool ((Craig's getting a woody)) and was hermetically sealed in a static free wrapper for transportation purposes).

Hey!  What kind of a pervert do you think I am?  >:( I prefer more experienced wool.

It should be a good test of your faith to endure it Howie.

Dayenu!

It would have been enough that He delivered me out of the hands of Pharaoh, but He brought me manna in the desert, too!

A ninja forum would rule, btw...

I appreciate that, Charger.
