The Watering Hole

For Sale

I need a car to get a job.  The car I got after sending my last custom guitar back to the luthier who built it was a lemon and is dead.  :(   So, being a guitarist without a guitar, I'm going to get rid of my current guitar gear.  Though, to be accurate, he's still building another custom for me - and it's paid for - plus I can get my other one back once I'm working.  Anyway, I'm about to get most of my gear up for sale with the idea that, eventually, I will get an Axe FX II and stay inside the PC.  I still have a LOT of dusting, picture taking, adjusting, and ad creation to do, but below are a couple of pictures of the main items.  Obviously, I'm hoping to sell what I can locally, but I'll put things on eBay if I have to.  From what you can see below, I intend to keep the Analog Man modded TS and the wah pedal.  And, in addition to what you see, I've got lots of cabs, racks and cables plus my entire vocal rack (Presonus MP20 Mic Pre, Antares AVP-1, TC Helicon Voice One, Behringer Feedback Destroyer) with all the mics going as well.

I've got a spreadsheet with over 70 items on it and I've gone to eBay to get the average selling price for the last five completed sales of each so I've got a decent idea of prices for everything.  It's just going to take a while to get everything sorted individually!

Let me know if anything jumps out at ya and maybe we can work something out!

I can't believe it either. Don't do it, find some other way to get some cash together but don't sell your gear...a big regret later if you do.....and steer clear of the axe fx, nothing but misery and tweaking if you go down that path.  Sell my document management hosted services, that will get you a regular monthly income and I will give you 50% of everything. Pm me if you are interested.
I think you should trade out all of those monster cables for coat hanger wire.  ;D

What is the Foot pedal?  Is it a Wah or Volume?  What do you want for it?  I had sold mine and have been kind of wanting a wah.

I went through a period a couple years back where I dumped all of my gear.  Sucks, but you have to do what you have to do.

I have been slowly re-gearing.  What do you want for the pedal board, as I look at the unorganized string of scattered pedals here? :D
How much for the pedalboard? How much for the Avatar cab, and what's in it?
Sorry for the late replies!  I've been stupidly busy...  I've got a few of the nicer items up locally on Craigslist, but I still have probably a couple of days worth of work getting everything else sorted out (along with the usual finding of parts & manuals, taking nice pictures, adjusting same and writing that damn ad copy).

@Jon - It's down the road, but I'm interested in the Axe FX II which is way better than the original (and I apparently love misery and tweaking  :D ).  I'll PM you about the other - you definitely have me curious!  :)

I've got a spreadsheet with average going prices (based on the last five completed listings on eBay) so I'll get those up here soon.  I literally could be selling over 70 items!

That said, there are a small number of items that I will be keeping for future use and that includes my Wah pedal, my Analog Man modded TS and my FCB-1010 floorboard.  Since I started with some of the larger items (on the linked image), I haven't gotten to the pedals yet but should soon!

I currently have three cabs left:

- Avatar 1x12 (open back) loaded with  a Celestion (from England) G12H30 70th Year Anniversary Special - 8 ohm

- Avatar 1x12 (open back) loaded with  a Celestion (from England) Vintage 30 - 8 ohm

- ADA 2x12 Vertical Slant Stack (closed back) loaded with an Avatar Hellatone 30 (a Celestion G12H30 from England aged 15 hours) and an Avatar Hellatone 60 (a Celestion Vintage 30 from England aged 15 hours) - both 16ohm (so the entire cab is 8 ohm)

I need to get my vocal rack up for sale locally next then I can start on the pedals.  I also need to get dimensions and weight for everything before using eBay (or if anyone here wants something).

All of this while making sure I can talk intelligently about Sharepoint Server, SQL Server, Project Server and Team Foundation Server for an upcoming interview - yay...
Still no prices...
I had gotten worried about you having not seen you here.  I was glad you hadn't gone mountain climbing out there.  Seems some didn't fair to well.

I'll keep and eye out for the list.  I might be in the need of something.  I was looking at the Wah, but it seems you're keeping that.

The only prices I've been working on are the "for others" prices.  BertCave prices will be different naturally!  ;)

Here's a preliminary list based on the average eBay price (last five completed sales / 5), then adjusted based on quality of what I have.  Let me know if any of them look seriously out of whack.  I've removed several items that I haven't decided on so there may still be more (plus a lot of accessories, like cables, aren't on here).

Shipping NOT included!  ;)

I'll get it out soon and will take pictures, but the terms "Like New" or "As New" definitely apply.
Can you guys see these ads?  I'm going to keep adding more items (pedals and mics next), but at least these have pictures and text.

My Craigslist ads
I see them.  Looks like a good link.
Your mic prices (the items I'm most familiar with) are too high.  An Oktava MK319 goes on ebay (BIN) for around $150.  An MD421, for $250 (BIN). A beta 57, 90-95.  Haven't looked at the pedals thoroughly but those seem to be about the going prices.
Definitely high on the Octavia so I went back to check (since I DID get the average price of the last five completed sales about ten days ago) and, without the shock mount, two of the sales were $399 (5/15) and $248.88 (5/12) which skewed the total.

Either way I'm going to start with higher prices (besides the fact that I keep everything in "as new" condition) because everyone negotiates on Craigslist and I've been losing around 20% on eBay sales (since eBay takes 10% of the gross and PayPal takes 3% of the gross - which means they take their fee out of the shipping as well).
Yeah, you just have to look at Buy It Now prices too. If you list your mic for $250 and there's one that I can buy right then for $150, it's a no-brainer.

The completed listings search for Okatava MK319 shows me a range from about $110 to about $140... the $399 sale was for a Michael Joly modded mic, which is basically $100 for the mic - the mod costs $299.

On the 421 and the Beta57, are those really the average sale prices?  What I see is lower, but I'm only looking at actual sales, not completed listings that didn't sell.
I only used ones that sold, but I did it a couple of weeks ago catching some that now look atypical.  I didn't spend too much time since I was doing this for over 70 items, but I can easily adjust down - I just don't want to give away something that's in mint condition.  The last five completed sales that look relevant now make the average $288.

One interesting thing about low BIN's, the average going price for a Novation Bass Station three weeks ago was about $340, I put mine up for $249 to sell it quick and it got LOTS of views and watchers, but no buyers so, after a week I took it down and relisted it three days later for $315 with free shipping and it sold immediately...  People are weird.
BTW - Those are the prices for others, if there's something you guys are interested in, then make an offer!
love the fake marshall stack.....great fun !
Again, just looking at the things I have an interest in.  By the way, the Analogman DS-1 is a good deal, and the Keeley comp is also a good deal, if you were to buy those new--assuming these are in new condition. Is the Phase 90 a "script" model (vintage)?
.
The Neutrik NYS-SPP-L PatchBay are $71 new at full compass.

Check the Rectifier Recording preamp-- your price on that is 895, which is the highest ebay sale price minus $4. The range on those is 575-899, most sales are in the $600-650 range.  Someone sold a set of "Primo Tubes" for the Rectifier recording pre for $499--  a set that consisted of 7 EH 12AX7 "gold" tubes, which cost $19 each retail; even with "triode matching" which isn't necessary in a preamp, they'd cost $24 each.  I suspect that's a bullshit listing and sale, but still almost cried when I saw that, at the humanity.
The DS-1 just sold.  I'm not trying to get rid of my gear so I'll leave the prices high on the best stuff (which really is like new).  I was actually up all night working so I'll get pics of the stomps up pretty soon.  I still have a LOT to do between getting all this stuff up for sale and keeping my last customer happy...

Yes, that's kind of what your prices look like- you don't really want to sell your stuff... that's a good policy. I'd do exactly the same thing, because I really want to keep everything I have.
;D ;D ;D ;D

Just can buy that kind of funny!!  ;D :) I laughed so hard I let out an accidental fart. That made it even funnier.

I'm tired of my house. I'm gonna get a bigger one. I paid 130K, I guess I'll let it go for 295K, special price for members here.... 250K.  ;D My house is in like new condition or new condition, thats why it's worth almost twice as much as i paid for it, and by the way, it's vintage. It's only 12 years old. And don't listen to what anyone says about that housing problem, that was a lie. You can tell by the special price I'm giving the members here.  ;D
Well, it's not quite like that, but it's more like-- I don't really want to sell my house.

I've totally been there.  I love most of my pieces of gear, the ones I am actually willing to let go of are either things I made that I already knew I was going to sell, and thus never really formed emotional attachments to, or things that I just don't use, and don't really like anymore.  If I don't use it and don't like it, I'm pretty willing to let it go at whatever cost. If I like it, you're gonna have to pay me more than what it's worth to get it.
When I just want to get rid of something I usually sell it at a lower-than-normal price so it moves fast.  Of course, that was back when I could afford any gear I wanted.

My current stuff simply will take more time to sell.  People have recently paid more than I'm asking for every item on the list, maybe not the smart ones, but I only need one guy to decide "Fuck it, I want it!"

I just had a guy stop by and buy my fake Marshall full-stack to use as a prop for a bunch of outdoor festivals coming up next month.  People will buy anything if the timing is right!  :)

Exactly!
