Just perusing GC today and stumbled across this little 'sale' item. Somebody here said something a couple months ago about the Fender Mustang amps...pretty decent for the price. Grabbed the V 150 watt head for $189 (again...sale item) just for shits and giggles.
Wow. Just WOW. This thing does Fender sparkle pretty damn good for a SS. From clean to blues to classic rock, this thing is surprisingly good. That is the one thing my Vypyr 60 Tube doesn't do...at all....nice sparkly clean-to-breakup.
The dude in the link below takes one through some of the better presets (and these are very deep-edit capable). And one of the best features is the onboard 'overdrive pedal' (yeah...tubescreamer model). The thing has a Bass, middle, and treble EQ. So you can turn the bass up to compensate for the 'low end dropout' you get from a normal tubescreamer. One of my main complaints of using tubescreamers has always been that the bottom end drops out. This amp fixes that. Pretty cool. Check the link...not bad:
