It's been awhile since I've posted gear porn, but here is my most recent acquisition that followed me home today. Ain't she purdy? Fender American Standard Hand-Stained Ash Tele in wine red. Honestly, It's one of the better Fender teles I've played in quite awhile. Having worked at a Fender dealer, I've played a few. I've been hankering for one for awhile. My only dilema left: leave it stock or drop a Dimarzio Chopper in the bridge and a Twang King in the neck for a little Ritchie Kotzen flavoring...

goooooh that looks so nice. now i gotta get a tele ::)
yeah, that's nice. But it needs the pickups AND the 4 position switch everyone raves about on Tele's.
Nice score Chris!
Ordered a Chopper for the bridge and an Area T for the neck. Heard great things about the Chopper.
Played one yesterday in a music store...one of the better sounding USA Teles.
How much did you pay for it?
My Tokai Strats and Teles are on their way to the USA...not sure how long a ship takes from Japan to USA.
Don't go crazy now and try to age it, that color looks great as is, no need to give it the dime a dozen faux old look just because it's a Tele!
Lance, street is around $999, but I work at a dealer (so it was a little less). ;) Mine is a FSR (Fender Short Run) Hand-Stained Ash American Standard. Supposedly only 250 in the run worldwide (75 in Europe and 16 in UK). I just love a nice piece of ash. ;D
Derek, oh HELL NO! I just don't get the whole Relic-ing BS! I know, I totally dig the Wine Red color. The satin finish really lets the grain come out.
