I wanna run one through the effects loop of my JVM head. I had a Boss EQ pedal once that was noisy as fuck.... but the reviews on Harmony Central rave anout these fuckers....
MXR is definitely better than the Boss on the noise end. I think Derrick might have one of these.
I have one - never use it (don't need an EQ right now - nothing wrong with the pedal). noise wasn't an issue. I never noticed it, anyway.
Happy MXR 10 band owner here, use it in the QR loop for certain things. I like having the low end rolled off a bit with the pedal, sounds different (better) then when I roll the amps low knob down...and this is purely because of the speaker I like to mic (G12H30) + the massive low end the amp has, together they're almost too much! I wouldn't need the EQ pedal with a different speaker/amp combo. Its a great little flexable tool to have, and like mentioned, even with extreme settings, its quiet.
Ta....
I like the volume and gain option. I wanna also use it to push my green channels....
I have been watching a local gear resale shop for one for months. Last weekend I walked in to see what tubes they had and they had a KFK version for $40. Half the LEDs are dead, but outside of that it is fine. It's an early release without 9v battery option. Not an issue.
Nice and quiet - works great to clear up the lows on my LP. Hard to describe, but it makes it sound more resonant. I love it for adding a little push to cleans for a lead boost too.
It really shines running it into my Pork Loin pedal and pushing a mid gain amp setting into heavier distortion. I think it's a keeper.
Something similar with saveable presets would be sweeeeet!
Think Boss is the only one with that feature. That would be uber cool in a transparent, true bypass pedal.
Or, we could return to our Line 6 roots, and get one of those digital Behringer EQs that Dr. Phil had. :)
The bungranger EQ might be OK in the loop, but I am skeptical. I do completely agree with the transparent / true bypass requirements.
I'll have to rely on fully analog preset saving (PnP.) I suppose I could go digital (camera.)
