Sorry to bug you guys with this. I'm just pulling (what's left) of my hair out with this new editing software. I've been using Gearbox for the longest time and I'm finding this new program to be a significantly different. Hopefully I can get some help with this. I've scoured through the Line 6 site to no avail.
Okay, here's the situation: I'll create a patch that I'm kinda pleased with. I'll record a part with it and then decide that I want to overdub a second guitar track. Instead of starting a whole new patch from scratch again, I'll just slightly alter the first one to create a different tone that sits with the first one.
Here's my problem: the changes that I make overwrite my original starting tone that I liked. They don't seem to be temporary. I'm not doing anything to save the changes to the first patch. It just seems to do it all on it's own. Even if I load up a different preset and go back to my original patch, my settings are still the changed ones. I've gone so far as to reboot the HD500 and software only to find that it loads up the patch with the changes.
In Gearbox, I could experiment with a patch and if I didn't like what I did, I could just load up another patch from my XT, go back to my starting patch and everything would be exactly the same as before. This new prog isn't doing that. It's like it's automatically overwriting everything I do directly into my POD.
Do I have so save a separate file on my computer every time I make changes? If that's the case, experimenting is gonna be a pain because I'll have a million files on my computer.
