So many pieces...
Both necks are out because I am going to finish the tele neck (canary wood) in tru oil, and I'm going to test the same on the neck joint area of the pau ferro neck.  Since I'm finishing the neck, I won't be putting the neck on tonight, which is fine--I got sent the wrong tuners anyway, 3 left/3 right instead of 6-in-line, so I have no tuners anyway.

Willing to put together a guitar from scratch, but only taking pictures with a cell phone qualifies as "selectively lazy" in my book.  ;)
are you doing the set-up yourself? did you get a slotted nut installed from warmoth?

I've been thinking about a new neck for one of my strats... but I don't have nut files.

a weak excuse (they're cheap) but the set-up uncertainties have kept me from buying one for a while...

I've thought about converting a coping saw into a nut file actually... tensioned wound strings can cut bone nicely and come in every size I'd want for nut slots, pretty much - x-acto saw for the .11 slot I guess... but I can get a wound .12, I think.

anways, good luck! looks like fun.
I don't do the warmoth nut.  I buy Tusq or Tusq XL preslotted (depending on whether I need white or black).  If the neck is an odd size I get unslotted. I bought the nut files from Warmoth a while back... this set...

Seemed better to me to get the files for $70 and then the nuts cost around $9.  It's about a 70 cent difference between slotted and unslotted.  Warmoth charges $30 for a nut install. My buddy and I have done 6 nuts, either deepening slots or from scratch, so it paid for itself.  The nut filing is incredibly easy too.  And there are lots of good nut width calculators online.

I do my own setups now... only if something is really screwed up do I go to a tech any more.  My buddy and I have amassed a real pile of tools and parts... but I've learned that upfront, a good neck needs less work.  However, we've taken a crap chinese neck and made it a player... it can be done.  But a Warmoth neck is just butter out of the box.  The side adjust for minor truss rod moves is ingenious.  And they're beautiful.  So many choices.  Check out the canary wood strat necks... this canary neck, out of all my necks, is easily the most beautiful I've seen.
