The Watering Hole

Planning on getting a new one, my old one is pretty much a crock now (an old squire jazz bass)

Any suggestions ?
Mine is a tanglewood Rebel 4k.  Although it was cheap, it is a very good playable bass. I love it.
I bought it about 4 years ago (I think), and I only paid somewhere around £150 for it new. Nice low action too for a bass.
One of the basses that has the most ridiculous range of tones is the Ibanez SR800.  I have one and my studio partner's got one too.  They have 4 knobs--volume, blend (front and rear pickups) and two tone knobs.  The tone knobs are both stacked--one control for frequency, one control for boost and cut.  You can go from big, warm, dark, round, Fender P sounds to bright, snappy Ernie Ball type sounds, and everything in between.  I picked mine up for a decent price... under $300, maybe 15 years old, and in very good condition.

It also doesn't hurt that it plays like a dream--thin neck, well-balanced body, comfortable finger anchor spots...

It's an older model... made throughout the 90's I think?   There are some other Ibanez's of that era that use the same tonal control system and active pickups but I am not sure which model numbers they are.  Incredibly well-rounded for a good price.
