BYOC? or other?
I'm looking to build a couple clone pedals and was looking for the best sites... good deals, kits, etc. I like BYOC but I do feel their selection is a bit limited.
BYOC is the Cadillac.  Their kits are better than the originals they clone.  But they do that right.... stock plus true bypass, and either improved parts, options, or both.  So the stock tone is there, only better and more varied, in most cases.  Not the cheapest kits, but for someone without lots of experience, the best for sure.

They have a pretty wide selection of kits.  If you think that's limited, what else are you looking at?

If you are looking to clone more things, there are circuit boards available for a TON more things than most kit makers offer.  But then in most cases you have to source the parts, case, knobs, switches, etc.  The exception to this is Mammoth Electronics, who works in conjunction with GuitarPCB.com and Barry.  He does boards, and they sell complete kits with everything else for some of them.  Or you can go to Brian at Madbean and get boards for other stuff but again, source all parts and case, etc.

GGG is good and cheap for kits, but limited selection.

Probably more info already than you needed, but if you want more, or more specific questions, let me know.
Which pedals are you going to build?
I agree there are a bunch of pedals available at build your own clone... but when I say limited, I mean--tubescreamers, mxr distortion+, dod 250, etc.  It's almost exclusively pedals I've seen and would never buy, even with updated components.  The ones that interest me from that site are the Marshall Shredmaster clone, the Big Muff clone, and the analog delay. But I'd love to see more original or cutting edge stuff.  I really want a killer compressor like the Boss CS-1 but with cleaner circuitry--all the clone sites clone the Ross, "transparent"---i don't want a transparent compressor, I want one that smacks my sound around and blooms and sustains and does weird crap.

Anyway, I looked at Mammoth too... I love that they powdercoat their boxes... but I love the BYOC kits and instructions and their message board...

I guess I'll buy a few and give it a shot.
BYOC is TOPS for instructions and help.  The forum (which I've been at for over 5 years) is great.  You can get ANYTHING answered there.

Seems a silly question, but have you tried a Keeley Comp?
A Keeley Comp is just a Ross Comp.  Most pedals are either Ross or Dynacomp clones it seems, except EH, but their stuff is all somewhat pricey.  If I could find a CS-1 schematic I'd build that but it uses some sort of optocoupler that probably hasn't been sold in 20 years...

I uploaded some info to one of my websites for ya.  See if anything here helps.  :)
