Hi guys
I'm thinking of getting a Blackstar ID60TVP plus FS10 foot-controller as an all-in-one convenient kit for rehearsing/gigging. I've heard really great things about these amps and the videos and customer feedback appear 'stonking', saying these amps are blindingly close as makes no difference to emulating all-valve amps but without the weight or maintenance.
Blackstar has gone out of its way to stress that these aren't 'modeling' amps in that their technology doesn't model specific amps but instead centres around replicating the way that different power tube sets respond, giving the volume, punch, crunch & bell-like qualities previously only available from all-tube amps.
The ID series have 6 tube emulation settings (EL84, 6V6, EL34, KT66, 6L6, KT88), ability to 'phase' tone/response between UK/US 'feel/response', excellent quality FX, 128 patches (12 onboard, 128user patches with FS10 pedal) and USB connectivity.
I'm wary of hype so normally I don't buy gear without trying it out myself. Problem is I have no Blackstar affiliated dealers near me to try out, and even those further afield don't have stock in.
So if anyone owns or has tried one of these puppies out, and can give an unbiased opinion, I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Thanks
Rich ;)
