I want to try one of these.  Very "plexi-ish" sounding too me.  Cleans up very well with volume knob.  Very small.  I want to try one, figure out what it is, and then build one.   ;)

What do you think?  Clips sound pretty good.  I know, it says it's for amps that don't have a dirty channel, but you know me.  I'm not afraid to push the envelope when it comes to adding gain on top of gain.   ;) ;D
Good, but not $120 good (to me).
Tripper
I'm damn sure I've seen this pedal being discussed on the net somewhere and if memory serves me right, (which is next to never these days :o >:(), it's a re-worked fuzz-face or something along those lines Howie. I.E; Classic schematic, new/different caps etc. to give it a new sound. Somewhere out there, there's a parts list for this thing.

Buy one from GC, pull it apart and copy the board/parts list, draw up your schem and send the little fucker back claiming it's faulty (intermmitantly of course ::))  :o :D.
$120???  Is that all???  Chickenfeed...HAHAHAHAHA!!! ;)
*Sigh...*  I remember when $120 was the bar tab for a really fun night out...  :(
AD, I don't think it's a fuzz. I think it's either some mosfet booster that's setup to push into OD or a simple FET driven OD.  I'll look around.  If you find it first, let me know.
Told you my memory was fried ;D.

You'll probably find it first. I'm busy sourcing parts for my P1 plus project  ;)
sweet!

You doing a turret board build?
Yeah Baby!!! ;) ;D

Ya never did get me that schem No., OR tell me where you would use the carbon comps!!! >:(.

I might go CC and Orange Drop right through except for the obvious  1 and 5W resistors and the 6 HV caps. I took a look inside my friends vintage (early 60's) Gibson amp that I still have here and it uses nothing but CC's. As I've got it in bits already, I'll take some gut shots of it later and post them up for you to w^*k over ;) ;) ;D.
geez, sorry.  I'm slammed at work, been spending my weekends in the hospital, only posting now because I'm waiting for a server reboot.  Hardly posting at all during the day.

Plus, I thought you didn't want the schematic if you were building the P1 or P1extreme.

Which one are you building, and I'll tell you were to put the CCs.  And, if you want really pristine, go ODs, but if you want some fatter juicier tone, got Sozo.  If you are going Orange Drops, let me know because the most popular series are not the best sounding. (according to some).
Hospital???

Almost definatly a P1 Howie. The reason I wanted your schem was to compare it to the present one and see what was different, that was all.

So, are you saying that you would Sozo caps everywhere except the 4 350volt and the 3 25volt caps or just in the tone stack....????

I figure I have about a week to go before stuff starts to get ordered etc...So I have to decide which way to go with this sooner rather than later so I can then decide whether to order a kit from Doeberman and then swap the parts out or source everything from seperate places except the stuff that HAS to come from them. (more than likely I will go with the latter of these two options so I avoid any import duty.)

All of this depends also on what is available at a resonable price over here and what will be cheaper to import. for example...All the caps, I'll get from the States as even taking import duty and shipping into account, they'll be cheaper than I can get then in the UK. The chassis will come from over here as shipping makes it expensive to import and so on......You get the idea.

Once all this is balanced out and I can see which route is going to be better, I'll start getting things into gear asap.

NOT looking forward to being without a working amp in the house. Even if it is only for a couple of weeks.

So.....What would you put where and why?

Spud.
