I've always been a 'Buyer' on eBay, never a seller.
It wasn't possible to be a seller unless I had a USA bank account.
Anyway my bud in the USA/Florida is way to lazy and slow for me, he's had the Tokais for ages now and has basically done nothing.
I got him to add his US bank account to my eBay account so I could become the seller.
How does this auction look, is it setup OK?

All looks good to me with one exception. In your listing you say 100% rated seller....that's not true as so far you haven't sold any items at all so you can't be a 100% rated seller as your feedback rating shows as "Positive feedback 0% " !!!!
edit: You also say 7-Day Money Back Guarantee, however you contradict this in that your settings say
Returns: No returns or exchanges, but item is covered by eBay Buyer Protection.
Thanks, Jon.
What do you suggest, should I leave the 7 day money back Guarantee or the 'No returns or exchanges'?
Lance — Aug 27, 2012Thanks, Jon.

If you do truly offer money back guarantee then include it but also change the settings so that it shows returns accepted otherwise you are just confusing the potential buyer and they will simply go elsewhere. Make it clear and honest and they will buy.
The amazing thing with anything to do with guitars on ebay is that everything sells. Last week I put up a few items all guitar related and sold every one of them for really good prices within 5 days.
Thanks, Jon.
I made the changes.
One problem.
WTF is up with eBay, I only have a $500 a month selling limit? :-?...is that because I'm a new seller?
I have 20 guitars to sell, obviously I don't have to sell them only on eBay, I can sell them however I want to...but as things are I can only list one. :(
That maybe owing to your paypal settings. I think you have to be a "confirmed" account holder which as far as I remember has something to do with linking paypal to your bank account or credit card or something like that. ......been a long time since I set mine up so can't remember 100%.
There's no limit on mine.
I think that is what it is, Lance. That paypal needs to be linked to a bank account. I dont think they limit even new sellers just because they're new.
I'd fix that before I listed anything. Don't want snags like this to make you look less than legitimate. Heck, $500??? That means you can't EVEN sell one guitar. None are less than that.
and don't forget to factor in your ebay and paypal costs to your final price ! Ebay takes around 10% of the final value and paypal is around 4% I think, so do your sums before you commit to your sale price as you are giving away around 14% !
So, on your current listing of $750, you will only get approx $645 !!!
Well, I couldn't link my South African bank account to eBay, thus I couldn't become a 'seller'...eBay don't accept SAfrican bank accounts.
So my buddy in Florida linked his US bank account to my eBay account for me to be a seller, and created a new PayPal account.
The money from these US sales go to him, not to me...I owe him money from our business in SAfrica.
This is a great price for these guitars, keep in mind there's a $100 Tweed case included in the price.
Howie, do you remember the Fender Japan Strat I got sent to you?
How many years ago was that, 2005...remember the price?
It was a ST68 - 85TX.
That's 85000 JYen, $1080 without a case and shipping from Japan.
It was a CIJ Fender made in the Tokai factory. :)
oh yeah, I remember it. I liked that strat. Do you still have it?
Howie
Big favour if possible.
Can you put this in TGP Emporium for me?
Just the heading,
Tokai Guitar, Vintage Series, 2012 AST70 GS (Sunburst) Rosewood Neck w/ Case
And then the eBay link.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300770246116
Where? Doesn't that have to be listed in the dealer emporium?
The dealer emporium at TGP has been scrapped, they only have one guitar emporium now.
Gee Lance, I sent some people over to your website to check out Tokais, but you don't have any prices listed next to the guitars so they went to Rondo for Agiles instead...
Sorry, I tried! :-/

Which guitars, the guitars in the catalogue?
Usually people e mail me through the 'Contacts' on the site asking for prices and info.
I cant put a price on the website, music stores & guitarists in South Africa are used to seeing the retail price, the price I charge guys in the USA is wholesale price...so I can't list wholesale prices.
Oh well, looks like I blew $12,500 of my bud in Florida's money.
Thought Tokais would sell well in the USA, I guess not.
An expensive lesson, hope I don't lose a friend. :(
In the insane world of guitarists, if it doesn't have a Fender or Gibson or PRS decal on the headstock then it's unacceptable.
Oh crap Lance, I was out of town this weekend and forgot to post this at TG P.
I'll post it in the morning.
Lance, now I have an issue. I didn't think about this... I let my preferred membership expire a month ago, and haven't sold anything recently so I don't have any cash in paypal to renew it. Because I'm not a current contributing member, I can't list things for sale in the emporium.
Actually, I have a few things to sell and was going to try to flip one thing quick to get money in paypal then renew my contributing membership status, but I have to sell something in order to do that which means I have to sell it at BYOC or somewhere. I've sold mostly on Craigs List or BYOC (and been paid with money orders) lately, so I haven't had money in paypal for almost a year. I will do this as soon as I can...
Hey Howie
Thanks, much appreciated.
