Today I scored a vintage EHX Green Russian Big Muff. This followed the Civil War Muff (in Russian Muff lineage), which it is very similar to. The Civil War Muff got used on a couple different Floyd albums by Dave Gilmour (though he did use earlier US versions on some of his earlier albums).
I also got a pretty good price on it for a vintage piece; about %25 less than most are going for. Of course, it's missing the original knobs (it's got chicken knobs instead) and the battery compartment cover, but that's ok. I don't care how pretty it is, just as long as it sounds good.
I'm hoping this sounds as good as I'm hoping. Over the last year I've picked up a couple discontinued Skreddy Big Muff clones (a Mayo and a ?Lady) that use some NOS parts and sound awesome. If this sounds as good as I'm hoping, I can sell these two pedals and pocket a tidy profit (due to the NOS parts). Each of the Skreddys is probably worth 2-3 times what I payed for the EHX.
