My Peavey PV6->Presonus Firebox configuration isn't working for me anymore (the Peavey is too small and the 48v button on the Firebox was broken, not to mention that its S/PDIF and MIDI jacks on it NEVER worked). I like the sound, but its clunkiness is annoying me.
So I did some investigation into compact mixers and mixers with USB or Firewire interfaces, and this little beast caught my eye - it's a full-featured standalone 16-channel digital mixer with a modular setup (controls are on one unit, cable connections are on another rackmountable box)
PLUS it pipes all 16 channels (and the stereo main mix) separately to the computer via USB 2.0 (yes, I know people grumble about it being USB).
I was poking around the net looking at prices, and J&R had it for $248.99 - and even though they were charging $399 for the same thing, AMS accepted my price match on it, and let me do the three-payment thing.
WOO-HOO!
It sounds great so far, and is really cool because it's actually a DIGITAL mixer - meaning you can save the settings in "scenes" for easy recall of EQ, effects, and fader settings. I think I'm going to get a ton of use out of this thing, both in my studio and at small gigs.

Picture is below. It's just the one hookup box - they show the other one to show the ports on the back.
