Installation tomorrow and we shall see if it was worth it. My boss sent me a hundred bucks for Christmas, and I pulled the trigger on the Lil Buddy using that money, or at least 71 bucks of it.
Now what can I do with the other $29 I wonder..........
Grats on the new speaker. Hope it works out for you.
The Lil Buddy speaker did just what I wanted it to do. It is more efficient than the stock Fender "Special Design" speaker so it has more volume which is not the important part. The important part is it mitigates the upper highs just enough to take away that harshness in the highs that bothers my ears so much. I never met a Celesitan speaker that I liked, or a Fender "Special Design" speaker that I liked. Although I do like Fender amps a bunch. And the speaker ain't even broken in yet. It has a hemp cone, although I can't smoke the hemp anymore I sure can use the hemp cone speakers.
Well I played one of my 45 minute sets with it today. To my ears it is almost perfect with the Super Champ X2. It took away that harsh upper treble that I generally hate to hear, however for those of you who do like Celestians and other crisp sounding speakers it will probably sound a little on the dull side. Of course I am using lower volumes these days so it does what I want, for jams and out playing I would have to turn the thing up a bunch, and probably have to turn the trebs up, and the bass down a little as the volume went up. But for me, this amp and speaker combo it is almost perfect as is.........
