This is cool!

Man I gotta be honest with ya.....there is something about the Strat look that is perfect. THAT guitar to me is ugly as hell. I couldn't own it even if it was awesome sounding and playing because I can't stand the sight of it. PRS makes UGLY strats. Can't do it.
It's like saying you want a Harley Davidson and getting a Yamaha. Not the same thing no matter how good both are.
No, this is like saying "I really want a Kia, and I won't even drive that Mercedes AMG because it is UGLY." ;D
Man, you really are a hillbilly! HAHAHAHAHA Try to get you a little something nice, and this is the thanks I get! >:( HAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm gonna have to take the Yngwie approach on this. Strats from Fender were conceived perfectly. They are like a part of my arm. I love many of the aesthetics of a lot of PRS guitars, but some just are so unexplainably ugly. That Strat and the Mira stick out as especially fugly.
I agree, the first thing I thought when I saw that was "PRS should stick to PRSes." That's one of the uglier strats I've seen.

That said, you'd LOVE these Tokai strats I have. $679 plus shipping. Haven't played anything near that price that was as nice.

I don't doubt that. Send me one and I'll evaluate it for ya.
What colors are your Tokai strats? Got any pics?
I have three strats, and three teles. I have strats in sunburst with maple or rosewood, and in all white with maple. Teles in Sunburst with maple or rosewood, and a white ash body with maple.
Here are a few pics. All include deluxe vintage tweed hardshell case.

Get your Jimi on..

I won't say the PRS is necessarily ugly, I've seen a lot worse and I can see it appealing to some on its own merits. But if it's being promoted as a Strat-like guitar then, yeah, it's a pretty ugly Strat.
The more that I come to terms with my financial situation (and before I earn enough not to care again), I've come to realize that there are certain things I want in my guitars (yes, plural, because you don't play real golf with only one club either). I can see myself with a standard template (body shape, neck scale & radius, electronics) then adapting it to get the different instruments I'd like (pickup variations, standard, baritone, bass, 12-string). That way they'd all feel fairly similar (obviously with longer scales for the baritone and bass) with consistent electronics for each. Going back to the golf analogy, they should all match in size for use and weighted comparitively. I want quality parts, but they don't need to be over-the-top and they sure don't need to be gaudy to be decent looking!
I like em both, but that black 305 with the maple neck looks awesome...
Yeah, I like that one. And the white one. Amy doesn't care for them though because she's used to seeing this beautiful wood (huh huh, he said "beautiful wood") on my other PRS guitars. ::)
Maybe you could trade one for that Kia that you wanted Howie! :D ;D
