Just bought one at GC for $29. Supposedly a rebranded, GC-only Distortion III. Supposedly has true bypass and some decent tone. Cooler things about this than the DIII:

Okay, I played this last night for a while. Caveat: I played it next to the Vox Satchurator, which is a fantastic sounding pedal. Compared to the Satchurator, the mxr:
had very little gain
had a nearly worthless tone knob
had a midrangy, lo-fi sound with no bass and no treble
Basically, I think this would be a good candidate for some serious modding, but it is not a good sounding, or useful pedal in its stock state. The only real use I can think of for it would be as a bass overdrive.
