Anybody still here?  Posts are old.  Anyhoo....grabbed an Adrian Smith signature model Jackson. It's pretty much a Strat, with Jackson stuffs on the inside. Freaking LOVE it!

Also grabbed a Fender Mustang GT 2x12 200 watt combo amp. Light as a feather, and loud as F#@K!!  I needed something more versatile for the 'Red Dirt- Classic Rock' band I'm in now.  The Fender mods are obviously really good. But what has me jazzed on this amp is the JCM 800 model.  With the available on-board EQ pedal(s) and cabinet models, this amp NAILS Red Dirt tone. With the Jackson guitar in the second pickup position, it is 'Quack' heaven.  And the sexy humbucker the Jackson comes with....no quack....just all over-driven JCM 800 heaven. It doesn't have enough overdrive to use as a chuggy crisp rhythm for modern stuff. It sounds like a JCM 800. Raw, with moderate overdrive.

I use the 5150 model on the Mustang GT for the heavier stuff. With all of the available deep editing features this amp has...I actually have my crunch tones sounding like a mixture of a JCM 800 and a 5150.  I know that is kinda weird, and hard to figure out. All I can say is..it is heavy, thick, edgy, and rich. Kind of 'Adrian Smith' like, to be honest. And of course...that is what I was going for in creating this tone :)
Looks great, Johnny!  There are a few still around.  It's just hit or miss when we show up.

Cool on the Red Dirt stuff.  I dig a few of the bands.  I like Whiskey Myers a lot.  I went and saw them last year when they passed through here.  I liked the guitar player Nick Work for The Lower Forty, but they fell off the earth.  There is a web radio that I listen to on occasion from out that way Texas Country Radio, or something like that.  I like Turnpike Troubadours, but the're a little more hillbilly.

Edit:  I nearly forgot, (How stupid of me)  The Braun Brothers.  More so Micky and the Motorcars, than Reckless Kelly.  I have actually purchased four of Micky and the Motorcars albums, whereas Reckless Kelly I can listen to, but not as taken by.  Why? Dunno ;D
Adrian Smith, like Iron Maiden Adrian Smith? That's cool as fuck.
Looks great!

I may actually have a new one before the month is out.  Another custom Jeff Miller that was started WAAAAAAAAY back in 2005 and, for many reasons, ended up on hold until late last year when Jeff made time during holidays to work on it.  I have lots of pics and even a video he made, but I'm waiting until it arrives.  CAN'T WAIT!!!  :)
SO COOL. Enjoy that beast, Johnny!
