The Watering Hole

Got these for my PRS and, have to say, they're a real improvement.

I have been having some string breakage problems with the D-string's saddle - would only get 2-3 hours out of a string with serious vibrato usage.

So, what the heck, for $40 I'll give them a shot.

Put them on a couple days ago... no breakage yet after at least 12 hours of practice/playing. I'm impressed!

They sound better than the brass saddles they replaced too.

Thumbs up for these so far.
That was what I wondered about those... how they sound. If they sound good that's a stoker because I dig the graphtech stuff in general.
They sound similar to the brass they replaced but without the persistent unpleasant 2.5kHz-ish ringing I was used to - I think the bass is less muddy too but I can't be sure if that's due to something else (also changed a pickup in there). Not dead sounding at all, which is what I kinda feared. Definitely don't miss the old ones... still haven't broken a string. Pretty cool.

I have a set to put on a strat too, so I'll see how they do vs. "steel" saddles. Not sure if the newer fender saddles are actually steel or some alloy... anyways, they break strings whatever they are. That guitar doesn't really have tone problems so it might be easier to tell if they change things in a negative way.
Finally broke a string. 5 and a half days of deliberately rough playing. That's at least 5x longer lasting! Cool.
I was actually thinking I'd change the strings due to deadness pretty soon anyway... heh.
