nodding doesn't work on a damn forum....
I'm just assuming everyone is 100% happy with their gear, has no issues at all, loves their live and recorded tone, and isn't planning to buy or sell any gear, or coveting anything...

;)

Here's my latest project. I'm doing this as a "very close" duplicate of a '68 Fender Strat... even spraying nitro this time even though it's horrible stuff... my buddy for whom I'm building wants it semi-reliced, aged, cracked finish, and only nitro really ages quickly.  A couple differences from a Fender of that era (neck bolts, tuners, Wilkinson bridge with steel block).

You sure do some fun projects!  :)
I'm not happy with my gear, I'm not happy with my sounds (live and recorded) and I'm sure I will never happy with any gear BUT I'm sure  a new amp will heal my crisis.

There're only few days to saturday!  ;)
That's the spirit Marco. Now, lets talk about it.

How does that make you feel?    :)
Insanely good!

I've sold the Pod HD and the Super Champ X2. Now I'm playing the Strat unplugged! Not bad at all. I'm considering to sell also the PU's ....they're completely useless ! ;D ;D

Heck, who even needs the guitar?  You could always pick yourself up an air guitar.  ;) :D

I look up to you guys for inspiration! I'm buying up a storm and Now Jon has guitars, an amp, and NO SPEAKER CAB!  What's with you guys lately?
I've really been digging a software amp sim called HeadCase.  It's not free but it sounds pretty good.  As all amp sims seem to, it gravitates towards the heavier side of the spectrum.  But add that to the $20 recabinet and it's about the most satisfying DI sound I've found. I haven't paid for it so you have to wait 15 seconds after it starts to use it.  I am considering buying it though...

I know the guy (Danny Danzi) who was involved with creating this and it is a great sim!  (He gave me a pre-release copy which I can't seem to find, but it's on a hard drive somewhere...)

If you'd like to hear him demo the sim, I uploaded one HERE.

BTW - His albums are killer!  :)
I'm working on things that don't really break the reporting threshold.

trying to track down the source of some strange low level noises I'm getting out of the uber even plugged straight in.... tube issue, noisy power line... I don't know yet.

so... nothing that interesting.
I will have some new threads soon...

It's a really cool idea to let users design heads... they're easy to find online and then you just drop them in to the software.  But so far I am batting .000 as every user-generated head I've tried sucks ass, or sounds so close to every other metal head out there as to be irrelevant.  They need a user base, a star-based ranking system, and someone to design some heads that sound like something other than another friggin 5150/Recto/Engl/Diezel.  The few cleaner amps that the Headcase guys designed are very nice but none of them have the balls and attack and bounce of any of my real tube amps... clearly the designers are primarily metalheads.  But I have hope for this product because it really does allow access to the guts and someone out there is going to design something brilliant with it.
