My a close personal friend of mine (we'll call him Pedalboy 3rd for now) wants to know how you'd compare the KOTB the OCD. He's looking for classic medium gain plexi/JCM tones. He has a Rivera Chubster
Pedalboy3 works, I guess but I'm definitely GigBoy1....LOL!
Seriously, though....I heard some KOTB clips and it sounded fantastic. I really want an OCD again but am tempted by the KOTB. Looking forward to your comparison.
I'm looking for Dearthian to correct me if I'm off here, but IMO, since you already have such a good OD channel, the OCD would be the way to go. You already have the Voice you are after, just want a little more. the KOTB is more of a "voice" pedal. Probably better suited to taking your clean channel and making it sound brit, (and I'm sure very good at it) while the OCD can take the OD channel you already have and just add some grit and boost too it.
of course, if you buy the KOTB, and don't use the Chubster's OD channel, then you don't really need the Chubster and any amp with a good clean channel will work for you SO, you should trade me for my Classic 30 and get the KOTB!

I hear that a lot from you.....hmmmmm. Quit stalking my Chubster!

Pedalboy Jr IN THE HOUSE!!! :D
Actually, if you are just wanting a little more of your sound, I'd maybe reccomend something different. I tried one of the PedalWorx Cactus Crunch pedals recently. I like it FAR more than the OCD (I've owned an OCD). It works well on top of a lead channel.
I tried a buddy of mine's (the same one picking up the Lovepedal) with a Genz Benz Black Pearl. It worked REALLY well with that amp (tried it with the boost dimed and gain dimed on the amp). The active treble/bass controls really let you shape the sound. I also tried it with a JSX and liked it quite a bit. The Cactus also stacks well. We also had his Keeley Java Boost running before it and it added a little more bottom.
The KOTB is definitely got it's own voice. I consider it more a distortion box than an od. It works best on a clean channel. It sounds great and I like it more than the OCD also. Truth be told, the OCD is ok but not my favorite pedal.
Just a heads up to both of you: if this Lovepedal does what I want it to do as well as I want it to do, one of them might be getting ordered and the KOTB might get sold. Of course, that's pending pedal stock at Lovepedal after I actually get to try it (which is looking like Tuesday).
Thanks for the info....looks like the Cactus Crunch is more of light to medium OD, where the OCD can get pretty heavy distortion. However, if I'm looking to add something to my Rivera's OD channel to add sustain and a little more crunch, maybe the Cactus Crunch is the way to go.
The Cactus can do light, but it can get a little rowdy. I have the PedalWorx Tejas (souped up TS808) and the Cactus can get a little rowdier when cranked up (but not as much as an OCD). I was VERY impressed with the pedal.
I'm also interested in a new pedal PedalWorx is making called the Sky. They call it a Sustain/Gain/EQ pedal.
I really am becoming PedalBoy Jr.... :o :D
Jeff, OCD V1.2 ! ;)
Actually, why isn't the Blues Pro working for you here?

I've always used the Blues Pro on my clean channel...going to try it with my OD channel tomorrow night at soundcheck. I bet it will sound pretty darn good.
OCD v1.2 over the v1.4? I've had both and I think I prefer the v1.4 but I did not have my Rivera then to try the v1.2 with it.
I'm quite intrigued by the Cactus Crunch now....we need a pedal swap/rental system...LOL!
for what you are wanting, yes. V1.2 over V1.4 It stays cleaner longer and it's the one which some say has too much bass.
CC is a great pedal from what I've heard. Don't know if it's better than the Blues Pro. I use mine with the OD channel of my C30 and with my High Octane. It works great on both. You just want to buy another pedal!!! :)
A guys at TGP has a KOTB for sale. After I PM'd him, he might accept my Tone Press + cash. I'm soooooo tempted!
uhhhhhhhhh......................... I'm with Chris on that one. THe KOTB is more of a Distortion pedal to be used with your clean channel and voice it like a Marshall. You already have a great Marshall voiced OD channel. Not sure why you'd want that pedal....

Because someday I hope to have a Christmas tree with pedals for ornaments ;)
Seriously, going to try and use the Blues Pro this weekend at the gig to goose the Rivera OD channel. I just get excited when I trade pedals!
I just get excited when I trade pedals!
Oh, I know this bro! I know this!!! HAHAHA Wait til you do a few of those "I've gotta have it" trades and then decide you like the pedal you traded better than the one you go! HAHAHA If I didn't LOVE the Tube Zone, I'd be kicking my own butt for selling the OCD 1.2. Always said I'd never sell it, and only did to get the new one, but now I want both. Should have traded something else for the Tube Zone. Also still kicking my butt for trading my Direct Drive with mod board for a regular one plus cash. That $35 was not worth what I lost in giving up the mod board.
I hear ya, swapping pedals is fun. I just brokered a deal trading my 2-knob Keeley Compressor for a Tone Press. If I find I don't like it (or miss the Keeley), we still have a 4-knob Keeley at the store I can snag (I really would rather have the 4-knob over the 2).
