Still liking the Helix?
Tobe — Dec 14, 2015Still liking the Helix?

I am pleasantly surprised to say "yes, indeed I am".    Really nice unit, great sound and fantastic input/output options via the sends/returns etc on the back of the unit. Covers everything I need.

I will post some samples soon, just been so busy and then a really rotten cold/flu lately only just able to start guitar fiddling again :)

Two thumbs and two big toes straight up from me  :)
Jon liking a modeler after the honeymoon period???  What's the world coming to??!  ;D
Thanks for the update. Says a lot in its favor. Four of five appedage rating!

Looking forward to clips but no rush. I would have to save enough for the divorce and the Helix before I get one anyway.

Hope you get feeling better. Busy is good.
Actually I would go so far as to say the more I use it the more I like it. The dynamics of it are truly astounding.  I should have a lne6 L2t powered cab next week some time so I'm now completely mobile down to the rehearsal rooms etc with plenty of power....no more back problems :)    It also sounds great through just about every PA and monitors I've tried so far.
I am back using software Amp stuff.  the ease of use is excellent and the price of admission is zero.  I have bought a few amps and cabs but it's pay as you go and you can demo before you buy. Peavey's Revalver 4.  Really good software, I think.  Standalone or in Sonar VST.  Uses IR type cabs.  Pretty cool stuff.

The info at the bottom of the page shows the individual costs and what comes with the program for free.

Doesn't cost a thing to check it out.  Very Stable software.  Runs on Windows 10

FWIW

It's cool the Line 6 stuff is good.  A little rich for me.  I'm like Tobe, I can't afford that and the alimony that comes with it. ;D
The revalver stuff sounds really good. I bought Overloud TH2 a few months back and only ever used it once, I hate it, so not dynamic.

I have been really surprised with the helix though. Thought I was done with all that line6 stuff but it really is good, especially as I do still play out, it just makes a nice easy rig to carry around
Yeah, I fiddled with the Overloud TH2 with the Sonar version.  That's how I wound up trying the Revalver again.  I had a Revalver version years ago.  I think this version is simple to use.  Much like plugging into an amp.  I've been pretty happy with it.

I like a lot about what I've seen with that Helix.  Pretty cool tech.
