I would like to compare the unprocessed sounds from different guitars.

As I don't own all of these guitars it would be good if each of you could record a short 128kb mp3 of your guitar. Firstly play an E major chord, then a C major chord, then a D major chord.  After that, play the open strings from low E to high E, one string at a time each string to be about one second in length.

I will then compare EQ curves etc and publish my results.

So, I'm looking for sound tests from the following:

Fender Strat
Fender Telecaster
Gibson Les Paul
Gibson SG
any other electric guitar

Just to be clear, I only want a recording of the unprocessed clean sound direct off the guitar (no amp involved at all).

Of course if any of you know of any website that already has all this info it would be great to share it and save me a boat load of work.

I have no idea what you're doing, but it sounds interesting as hell!  :)

You might want anyone who sends you a sample to say what pickups they're using too.

Yes, i had forgotten that.

I want to create a set of eq curves that would enable me to put an eq pedal immediately after the guitar before any effects and before the amp to approximate the tone of the different pickups. Yes, i know it won't be the same as using the real pickups, but it will be an interesting experiment
