The Watering Hole

I received my Roland GR 20 and GK-3 today.  I just finished setting it up and I am quite impressed.  I was afraid tracking would be an issue but so far it works great set up on my Variax/Ibanez transplant.

I have to hang it for the night before I get a chance to try it on my Roland U-220 sound module, some soft synths, and MIDI pedalboard.

It should be an interesting few days ahead seeing what kind of noise I can create.

Has anybody else ever try one of these?

I used to have a GR33 and a GI 20. The GI 20 is sweet if you are using sound modules or soft synths. Best tracking device Roland has ever made.

Still, one of my all time favorite pieces of gear is the old VG8, which also works with any 13-pin MIDI pickup like the GK2A or the Systems in the Godin guitars. The VG8, while being primitive by today's standards, has some really expressive synthy tones such as various string and wind sounds. I like it when I am in Pat Matheney mode.
