The Watering Hole

I've been thinking of this mod for a while now. I know JonG has done it with a kit from TorresEngineering.
How about this kit, it comes pre-soldered and ready to drop in, you just need to solder your pups

Any thoughts?
Looks interesting.
James,  I don't know if it's a good deal or not... Jon would be the man to ask.  He got his done and was really digging it but I don't remember how much it cost him.
My soldering is pretty good and I was going to have a go at this myself, but when I received the wiring loom all soldered up with all controls and switches it firstly looked easy, but then I thought seriously about it and took the right descision to get a pro to do it.  Although  at first glance it does look easy, there are so many fucking wires to keep track of when soldering the coil taps etc, unless you are really very good at this stuff it's  a fuck-up waiting to happen.

The guy that did mine ( a professional ) did a fantastic job and he only charged me for 1 hours labour at £45 an hour. ($72).

Well worth doing as it opens up so many sounds on the guitar, the single coil sounds are just brilliant.

I would definitely go for it, but think long and hard before you attempt it yourself.   The downside of course is that it took me 3 months to actually find the professional who "could" do it as most that I contacted wouldn't touch it as they didn't have a clue how to do it!
Solid advice!  I've looked at the mod.  If you aren't a really good DIY guy, and if you could get it done for $75 or less, you're better off to pay a pro.    Honestly, even if you ARE good, some things aren't worth the hassle.  Pay someone else.  ;)

That said, Jon and others I've read, say that this is a KILLER mod so no matter which way you go, sounds like it's worth it!
