Greetings Gents:

Its been awhile since I posted,so hope everybody is doing well.  been up with Craig B working as ranch hands on Kev's 100K acre ranch and resort in BC Canada...:)

I loved all of the HD500 posts. I just picked up the HD300 which is more my speed. I absolutely love it.  I have more work to do on it but currently using it exclusively with my acoustic direct to PA.
works as a great DI and love having the effects. It really warms up my Tak in a live setting.
(Damn...  The secrets out!  ;) )  ;D
Glad you are enjoying it.  Have you tried it at all with your electrics?  There are some pretty good models in there!

Exactly how are you using it with your acoustic?  Using an amp sim?
greetings Craig B and DTR:

I only plugged my strat into it and messed around for about an hour.  the acoutic rock band I play in (very rare I may add)  played an hour set for this fundraiser so I literally purchased the pod  2 days before and plugged my Tak into it.  I found a stock setting (cant remember off hand) and it actually sounded pretty good so I used some of the effects and that was it.   Been too busy with work, kids et.c.  so not a lot of my time.  I havent even plugged it into the Mesa yet or ran the LP through it.     thats about it.  I never bought the Xt Live, I used to have the kidney bean + the fbv short board.  this is like going from a stripped down honda accord to a  BMW 5 series.  I like it, but  just need the time... take care... whats been happening around  here?  I exchanged emails with mark once in awhile and seems like he is doing well.  take care,  TS
one other note:  I think I was into my old kidney bean and short board and case for around 500 bucks.

I got the HD300 for $278 at GC.  I really dont know a better value on the market.  they run $329 for the HD300. I saw it online going from $300 and up.    I saw a 1 only on ebay for $278 so I asked GC if they would match it.  They said "no dice"  cant match ebay, the price is too low.  I said no worries, a day later the GC rep emailed me and said he could do a 1 time exception on this price match.
I said... perfect.  bought 2 of  them. one for my other guitar player who has an xt live.   We were both very stoked.

glad you are enjoying it. If you don't need many effects at once and just want good models and a basic setup, the HD300 is probably a STEAL for the coin.

I think I am finally maturing a bit.  normally I would step up for the HD500 or similar, but the reality is that I am not tech savy and I will never use  80% of the stuff.
so in my older years I am actually purchasing exactly what I need, not what I want or should have..   a novel idea ;D
yeah, it's a complicated beast!  I don't even attempt to edit tones, effects etc without it being hooked up to my laptop and using the Edit (which is GREAT by the way!)

I was interested in the 300, but the way they block the effects groups limits the ability to say use a comp and an OD.  They are in the same block so you can only use one.  IMO, they did that on purpose and it's the big limiting factor to push you to go up the food chain.  Still, the 300 is a great box at a great price.
