I was curious about the DT25 Amp head. I went to their link at Musician's Fiend and they show several used ones available. I don't like that they're coming back already. It shows that it's a New item on the L6 website. I wonder what's up wid that?
It's a practice amp basically. with X3 (not HD) technology.

that said, I'm wondering if they have a bomb to drop because after the hype, they are taking a major beating in some of the forums for promising the next great thing and delivering repackaged old tech. Again...
These are compelling--and yes, my good friend was the electrical and software engineer on them. But just because I know him, and he know he's both a complete analog freak, and an ultra-spec guy, I have a lot of confidence in the product. And the engine is your iphone or ipad.

I know that the basic model is cheaper than most of its competitors, sounds better, and has better specs... Joe was very proud of that... I don't know on the big boxes. He's the engineer and the other guy makes all the pricing decisions.
That's why I'm interested. The first one he made was better spec'd than anything else I saw. If I hadn't kind of (at the time anyway) lost interested in jamming through my iPad I would definitely have bought his interface. Seriously nice stuff!

I would guess that any of the compatible boards for the X3 would work. I think they are the same boards as for the Xt, and The HD Bean. I have an X3 bean and one of the smaller FB Express Boards with a pedal for switching. Never use it. They use a RJ-45 cable for hook-up.

I looked at the specs and it does say the FBV MKII controllers are compatible.
Thanks DM. It looks interesting to me. But nowadays I use tube stomps for overdrives, and a digital harmony pedal is on my list as my GNX2 is way long in the tooth.
I don't get why this is X3 technology....a massive backward step I would say. I had an x3 for a very short time and it was the worst incarnation of the pod family ever, so why they would go back to this is puzzling to say the least.
Clueless managers making decisions instead of the musicians that once started the company maybe?
The sad thing is, they have the resources to be a force in the music industry, but more and more they push themselves to be a middle of the road consumer electronics company instead.

I wonder if that acquisition has anything to do with the tech they are putting out now. Maybe some of the tech was left out of the merger. I don't know, just speculation. Generally, whatever you develop becomes the property of the company while you're employed there. Maybe there was some other deal. ????
I played with one of these at Guitar Center. It's pretty fun, actually, and sounds pretty terrific as a sound system.
Shockingly (okay, not shocking at all), I surprised the GC employees by knowing how to get my iPhone to sync with the amp and tweak settings and play music through it.
If I wasn't already pleased with my living room setup (POD of some sort (either my HD500, X3Live or XT bean) through my Roland CM-30 cube monitor, I might consider it.
