"Guitar used for clip was an Eric Johnson signature strat with a JB jr in the bridge." :o
those sound pretty sweet too.
is it true that people are selling kemper profiles? saw someone reference paying for one... I was kinda surprised. no opinion about it, just that it's so different from the free patch exchange thing that I was used to.

Sheep
Ya, there are two guys selling Profiles. The one guy is a studio engineer in the UK who's connected to Andertons Music Store in London. Andertons give him all the amps to profile, he makes about 10 Profiles per amp and sells them for 5 Pounds per amp. He's the Amp Factory...you can listen to soundclips on his site. http://www.theampfactory.com/
Then there's another guy in Germany who also sells bundles of Profiles...his name is Armin. http://www.soundside.de/
This guy, Pete Turley, doesn't sell Profiles but accepts donations from anyone who wants to donate. He's the guy playing on the clip I posted using the Eric Johnson. http://petesprofiles.weebly.com/
Then of course there are hundreds of Kemper owners, studios, etc, that share their Profiles for free on the Kemper exchange site...it never ends, everyday dozens and dozens of new Profiles, some good, some great, some shite.

anything to prevent someone buying a profile and letting it loose on the world? honor system?
not much different from buying good IRs, I guess... interesting developments in the world of digital tone anyways.

Honor system. :)
I have a buddy here in SA, studio owner, full time pro. He buys everything, so he's bought many of the Profiles. I go visit him in his studio and I'm browsing through his KPA and I'm seeing all his bought Profiles. What should I do when he says, 'pop in a USB stick and copy the ones you want'...should I say no? ;D

just memorize the settings :)

Good to see 'ol Armin's still doing things! I remember teasing him about an iPhone app he made that was written about. It did nothing but cost a LOT and he still sold eight copies to complete idiots with too much money - lol!

Did you forget, :), it's not a modeller, it doesn't have amp sims where you can just share settings. So, if you don't have the Profile of the actual amp, it's no use remembering the settings. :)

Yeah i know. I messed up. I tried type "that works on my POD HD500" as a joke, and somehow i deleted the last part when i posted.

It was only a matter of time.
Now someone needs to go and start making the $200 profiles. Then all those loons at the Gear Page will go nuts and swear they are the greatest thing ever.
