Combo with 1-12 6V6's only no EL's
Any Ideas? I might be selling my Super Champ X2 tonight. Looking to spend less than $600.
With your limitations, this looks to be the best for the money. Going by reviews from here and other places. I personally haven't played one.

Tweaker is the obvious choice, 6V6 and 12" combo. No reverb but lots of tweakability. I like mine a lot, it's become the "in the control room" amp, for overdubs and for my pedal and guitar testing rig. I just retubed it last night and it was a bitch... one of the t-nuts was not catching in the wood and I ended up having to chop off one of the screws. When I opened the thing up, I found that the stock Ruby Tubes power tubes had pretty much disintegrated. Both were cooked, one was separated entirely from its base, the other had cracks in the glass--note that it has been about five years I've had it. Not pretty. I stuck in EH 6V6s which seem to be universally loved, if the Egnater cooks these too I'll look at the bias. Other than the plethora of screws to take the thing apart, it is a pretty beautiful machine internally though. The transformers are massive for 15 watts, the PCB layout looks well-ordered, and there some nice parts in there. Nothing shabby about it.
I sold the SCX2 last night. I am thinking Tweaker also. I may pull the trigger on one soon.
Now this is peaking my interest a bunch.

Thought you were looking for a combo...
I am looking for a combo, that amp can sell with an upside-down faceplate. and I can do some decent cabinet work. We have a fully equipped wood shop in our little community. May be time for some homemade cabinet building.
I was thinking of that amp with the cage for use as a head, the efx loop, and the upside down face plate for another extra 25 bucks. Then building the cab at my leisure Total extra cost is $25 for the upside down faceplate, and $37.50 for the cage for use as a head.
Still deciding.
Trip to GC first to see what they may have in my size range.
Cage is 57.50 but not really useful if you are going to mount it in a box like a combo. FX loop is $50 extra. I have heard these are all custom built and take about 2 months to get.
The cage is useful as a head option and not really that much money, you are correct $57.50. I would have used it as a head till I built the cab. And if I did not like the cab, the head option was still available. I thought it was worth the extra to get both face plates and the cage.
Still a trip to GC to see what else is available that I might not be thinking of is in order before I do anything.....
