Now THAT has me thinking 8-)
I saw that this morning. That one gives me major wood.
Wow. I have always loved the Mark IV. If I were in a situation where owning a tube amp would be beneficial, I would so love to have this.
I was checking it's specs on Mesa and it has some serious capabilities. Seams like a Roadster type amp for people who are fans of the Mark series as opposed to Recto.
Channel 1- 3 settings (Clean, Fat, or Tweed; kinda like the Road King/Roadster)
Channel 2- 3 settings (Edge, Crunch or Mark I)
Channel 3- 3 settings (Mark II+C, Mark IV, Extreme)
Each channel has 3 power settings: 10/45/90

I hated mine, sold it for half of what I had in it, and don't miss it a bit. However I would like to try out the Mark V
Really DBM? I've always thought the IV was wonderful. I know it's all Walter Trout uses and his tone just smokes live.

It was wonderful once you got into power amp distortion. Besides Walter Trout (whoever he is) probably had a tech guy mod his up. Mine was stock. With stock Mesa tubes. And always used in lower volume situations at home. Not good for that..
well, that's not fair... MANY Marshalls don't sound all that great at lower volumes either.
I believe Petrucci has used a Mark IV and I love what he does with it.

Are you just pulling my chain? Walter's one of, if not, the top blues player out there right now (and his IV's are stock). :-?
Wow, that thing looks like it has airplane cockpit controls on the front!
cgtrox 8-)

Never heard of him, but I quit listening to music years ago. I still listen to the 60's guys while on the road, and I have all of that in MP3 so I do not buy CD's nor listen to anyone at home and have not for 15 years or more.
OK a stock IV works great at band level volumes. I admit that but it did not serve me at home, so I sold it. and don't miss it a bit. And my cheapo Hot Rod Deluxe with stomps get's tone to my taste way better than the Mark IV ever did (without the stomps) Maybe with stomps it would sound as good or better than the HRD but I did not have any at the time.
and that's why there are so many boutique smaller and lower watt amps on the market now. The amp makers used to save all the really good stuff for their biggest models. More and more now understand that 100+ watt, full stack amps, don't work as well for anyone but guys who gig on bigger stages.
That's also what intrigues me about the MarkV; it can be kicked down to 10 watts on each channel. 10 WATTS!!! Being able to go from 10 to 90 watts...I'm all over that.

Sure is tempting ain't it.
hmm... interesting amp - any word on the MSRP?
Haven't seen the Mesa Price List, but word on the Net is about $2000. If you know Mesa, $2000 MSRP is the price it will sell at.
From what I've seen, heard and read, they won't have any real problems getting $2G for those either. You might need to take classes at your local community college to understand them though! ;)
Please... ::) ;D My Roadster has more knobs and switches. ;D This thing will be a walk in the park. If ya get confused, get an acoustic.
Now if ya really want knobs and switches mayhem, look at the back of the Road King. That'll make your eyes fuckin' cross!!
My eyes almost crossed reading my Mesa Recording Pre manual...

Interesting how this has evolved. Becoming much more popular on top models these days, isn't it?

Mark, Les Paul volume knobs.... you'll figure it out. :P

So you're trying to compare someone who couldn't figure out what four knobs on a guitar did to someone trying to figure out a preamp with over two dozen knobs and switches? Ok...

ease up man, just joking. Besides, it was 4 knobs AND a switch. Three way switch, at that. ;)
Oh... Well that's different then. :D
in YOUR defense, them chrome knobs, show iz hard to see. So even if you know what they do, you don't know where they are!
