I tried to sell it on Craigs List several times, yesterday I posted an ad for it and another Faded SG owner with the ebony fingerboard and half moon inlays replied and told me that the one I have is a collectors item, and they are currently selling for a thousand plus. I have it up for $650 with a hardshell case and a TP 6 fine tuning tail piece. He said I should easily get $800 for it. I think I will try and get that. I have $750 in the thing with the hard shell case and fine tuning tail piece. If I get $800 for it that will be the first time I ever made money on an instrument purchase and then sale.
He failed to mention that a "collectors" item means it's something no one else wants so you can't sell it therefore it sits in your closet "collecting" dust year after year.  I have many collectors items right now... ;) :D ;D

It is a great guitar, I just talked to Shooz Guitar and Amp Repair (via e-mail) over in the LA area. When I stop in to see Steve my producer friend in Beverly Hills, he said he will mod my Hot Rod Deluxe and put in a volume control near the bridge/rear pup and redo the old rear pup volume control into a master tone control. and we can put in some new pups (I supply the pups) and split the coils all for $140. I met the guy at Steve's house last New Years Eve (2007/08) In fact he told me he was listening to my CD on Friday I am sure he gave me a good price because I am a friend of Steve's. I know the mods will make the ting less collectible but I hate the fact I need a volume pedal to do volume swells because I can't easily reach the stock ones. The guitar has the very best neck/fretboard of any guitar I have ever owned. Plus I need to split the coils and have the center position play both ends of the buckers without hum. I'd rather sell it and put the money to a great amp. If I can sell it I will have $1,600 cash on hand plus I can always pay out of our bank account another grand and get me something real special.
just a thought.  If I have a guitar with the best neck-fret-fingerboard I've ever played, it ain't going anywhere...

I have several now that approach that... the PRS with medium frets would be off the charts...  my meager JS 100 has a fantastic neck... (I'm going to upgrade the pickups because that is still my best "all around" guitar...    That's what makes me say what I did above.  Feel is KING with me.  Tone can always be changed to suit tastes.  But guitars are like women.  The one that feels the best is the one you want to play the most.   ;)

I'd still rather have the cash amigo, not that it is selling, I did not get any bites. Because I am thinking new amp and I have three other guitars that I like better, and one not so much. I would get another Ibanez RG321 to back up the one I have because that is my all time favorite guitar bar none and it only cost me $272 plus a hundred for the case.
