It is a Cherry Sunburst model with ebony fingerboard. I owned it twice and he has owned it twice. We have been swapping it back and forth since the mid 1980's.

I had the pickups changed to Seymour Duncan Distortions which have been my favorite humbuckers since they came out wayyyyyy back in the early days of third party pups. I also had it refretted with jumbo frets.

My plan is to give the guitar to my wifes niece Grace as a gift when and if she learns to play guitar which she says she is going to do. Once I see that she is into it, and learning, she gets the guitar and probably a decent tube amp as well. She plays keyboard pretty well.

Anyways in the mean time I get to use the guitar and if she never learns, I will put it up for sale or will it to my kid again after I croak.

Yep, new gear day is visiting my house if UPS don't screw up the shipment, although he will insure it. Which is cool too because with the insurance money I will amp up  with a new  tube amplifier.

Duncan Distortions?  Really?  Wow Dave, we would have never guessed you for those!  :o

Duncan Distortion™ SH-6 and TB-6
High output humbucker built for aggressive playing styles. Recommended for old school metal, nu-metal, gothic, garage, punk, thrash and other heavy rock styles. Great for drop tunings.

I used to have DiMarzio Super Distortions in my first Les Paul (though I put the stock pups back in when I sold it).

I have been using Duncan Distortions for a long long time, I also used to use DiMarzio Super Distortions, but once I tried the Duncans they seemed to suit my taste in overdrive power the best, I been using them since 1977, whenever they first came out. I first put them in my Ibanez Artist which I bought when the 25 anniversary Les Paul Came out. I was gonna buy that but I saw the Ibanez and it was double cutaway, vs the single cut of the Les Paul, and cost about 30% of the Les Paul at the time. I put in the Super Distortions first and then the Duncans, and from that time on I have been using them.
