I switched the amp on this evening....no sound. Cranked the pre and the master....no volume. Fuck, I then realised I didn't have the cabinet plugged in :o I was running the fucker for about 2 minutes wacking away at chords etc with no load on amp.....Still works luckily ! What a silly cunt ::)
So once you finally hooked up the cab did all those stored chords play back for ya? :D
LOL! See, it's not good to go without a cab! Naughty boy! Now for punishment, you'll be sentenced to 2 years with no tube amp or speakers, only a 2004 model Zoom modeling device! ;D
LOL! Don't feel that bad, you're not alone, do that as well from time to time! It does freak you out though for a second when your brain starts wondering "what the hell is wrong?" I have my two heads stacked and I have to un-jack/re-jack the guitar in cable, the effects send/return and the cab cable whenever I want to run the "other" amp. So easy to overlook a chord. I think a couple minutes is pretty harmless. Least it has been so far. ;D
Although it truly is not recommended and could possibly destroy your amp, I've had a tube amp unplugged from its cab and turned on for over two hours... Luckily it was the Sovtek and it would probably require actual munitions to destroy that thing...
i did that once on my triple rec. turned it off and on a few times until i saw a flash come out of the back :o luckily it was only the fuse
