Still working on the pedal setup but this is more or less what I'm gonna use for my new blues project.
Got the new amp a few days ago.
The Tube Screamer pedal is home-built. It's the TS-808 SRV version. Sounds a little different than the regular TS-808 , just a little dirtier. The Echo-base is home-built also.
Anyway , here are a few pics.

Like that screamer, Sammy!
thanks Howie , now all I need is time to mess with it. ;)
Nice amp and pedals, CIS. That should give you some good tones.
Nice stuff! (love the guitar as well ;D 8-))
Nice dewd! :)
Is that the Blues Deluxe RI?
If so, how are you liking it?
Hey, is that just an avatar or is that yer guitar? ;D
Randy
Thanks guys .
Yer right Randy , it's a Blues Deluxe Reissue.
Haven't had much time to check it out extensively but I like what I hear.
I never owned a Fender amp , always played through Marshall amps ( used to play metal only ) so it's a nice change of sound for sure.
Hope to free up some time soon to write some new stuff for my blues cd so I'm pretty excited.
I saw on the Watering Hole Stock pic that someone brought their Blues Deluxe to the jam.
My thought was that it was yours , Randy.
As for my Avatar Guitar , it's just an avatar. I don't own that guitar and to be honest , it's not on my list for my next purchase either. ;D
Looking to build a few more pedals and eventually build all my home-built pedals into one pedalboard a la Cornish.
I love how that guitar looks though!
(Heh, I've heard of chambering your guitar, but that's a different angle on it! ;D )
That guitar would be great for Krist-Yun music.
It's so HOLY. MWAHAHahahahahaha ;D
I've played yer amp in the store.
I think it sounds DAMN good!
Hey, the price is right too!
Randy
Looks like the guitar has some built-in cupholders too :P
The price of the amp went up $50 since last year.
I got it at GC for $700 out the door , including a pedal tuner ( which I don't really need ).
They had this deal on Musiciansfriend so I printed it out and got the same deal at GC but with a slightly better tuner pedal ( which I still don't really need ) ::)
Saved me about $120 in tax and tuner.
Love the sound of the amp though but I should've bought the Blues Jr. because this one's a little too loud for my bedroom.
Although , I remember seeing a thread on the WH about an insulated amp box to put your amp in and keep the noise down.
I think it was either Craig or Lance who started it , not sure though .
I'd like to see that box pic again whoever build it.
Actually, I think it was someone else (yeah, I'm trying to remember... This would be easy if the Hole was still up! >:( ).
I had an understair closet foamed up for my isolation chamber.
Pic here.
It sure has been a while since this came up.
I could've sworn it was you , Craig , who built the box.
I guess I was wrong.
I do remember your isolation chamber , too bad I don't have a closet in my music room , loft , bonus room , or whatever you want to call it , or I could do the same.
Don't really want to build one either as this room is already full of stuff.
The isolation box was/is a great idea so whoever came up with it : Let's hear your voice.
I thought it was one of our K members, Kliff or Keebo?
No, it wasn't me. Perhaps it was DTR as he likes to record a lot :) .
Ha! ;D

Nice work on the graphics! 8-)
sweet pic Craig ;D ;D
Hey Dale , long time no see.
Hey Sam!
There were a few threads on ISO Boxes. I built one and I think Spud did as well. I'll have to look around to see if I still have some pics of the one I built.
Those holes in that guitar look like a nice place to poke the one eyed monster thru to see the ladies in the front row. ;D
EDIT: I found the pics for you Sam. I'll post them up. Richard also uses an Iso Box. He may still have some pics as well.
required rambling. Lined with Ceiling tiles. Two layers. 3/4" Birch Plywood.
More rambling. I have two 1x12 cabs that I use inside. This Avatar and a pine cab that Rocket built for me. Both are closed back.
More Fucking rambling. You get the idea. I now have added some acoustic foam as well. Not in the pic.
Lid fits tight, but easy enough to open for mic adjustments.
This gives you an idea of the size.

Nice amp
Hey Dean ! Thanks for the pics.
Wow , ceiling tiles? I didn't know these things insulate that well. I know they do a little but this is interesting.
Thanks for the pics . I don't think I've ever seen your pics before. Good job if you ask me.
One question: how much difference is there decibel-wise between "in the box " and "out of the box" ?
My amp is about 40W and extremely loud for my music room. I was wondering if it would be good for me to build one of those boxes or not.
Thanks for the nice words Harv. Now all I need is time to be productive.
I see you also have an electronic drum kit.
I have a similar one ( Roland V-club ) . I modified some stuff on it.
I replaced a few pads with real drum shells and Roland Mesh pads.
This thing rocks . Also had to modify my drum rack. Used 1 1/4" electrical conduit as it is the same size as the original Roland rack pipe.
Here's a pic .

You can see some more pics of the build on my MySpace page.

Hey!

Well, Sam, The difference between Inside / Outside is huge. Decibels? Way out of my expertise, but a way to describe the difference is that I could never, ever, fucking ever play at the volume inside the box, outside of the box. Silent, No. Far from it, but it just thumps and is way, way more manageable. I monitor the mics thru headphones "in the mix" on the fly, for the most part. Seems to work for me.
One thing to consider for your setup is tube warming. You probably don't want to put the amp in a box. Does the amp have an external speaker jack? I would look into running a seperate cab in the box and unhooking the amps Speaker. Being careful to make sure that the impedance for the external speaker is correct for the amp load.
Yeah, I have a E kit. I also have a nice Pearl Acoustic kit, but it has been forever since I pounded them. I have been way busy starting my own business and time has been a premium. I haven't played guitar in a while. Some acoustic banging on a 12 string I bought a while back. The most I've played is tinkering with a mandolin that I traded for a few months back.
In this pic you can't see the 16" floor tom and I added an 18" Floor tom.

sweet kit Dean. Thanks for the info. I figured the inside of the box would get pretty hot with the heat of the amp/tubes.
There's a preamp out that I can use to record and such . I don't want to disconnect the speaker , it's not a big deal actually. I just thought it would be nice to turn up the volume of the amp without having the actual noise inside. It's still a room , you know.
I used pearl toms to build my new E kit.
The only bad thing about it is that I can't get the same toms anymore. That whole line was discontinued.
Hard to find that color also.
But I'm happy with what I got.
I built one and lined it with Public Hair.
That sum bitch sure is quiet! ;D
Craig...outstanding!
Is that the Audiophile Edition? ;D
Randy

Public Hair? Did you go around scrounging from your man, Bush and his sidekick Dick? :D
Hell no.
I've got enough hair around my ass to weave an indian rug. ;D

I could use a few wigs for my Halloween props :P
